Exactly what I needed
I bought 3 pair. They were all built exactly the same and installed perfectly for my use. Shipped quick and I got it done fast. Highly recommended.

Finally installed these, my wife can now get off my case ;)
Took me months to actually get around to installing them but I'm super happy with the results (so is the wife!). These are working great, I used them to install a mantle over my fireplace. My contractor told me I could have just glued it to the top of the brickwork but I wanted it extra sturdy. These deliver! I might not do this for a really big, heavy mantle without the extra support of the brick below it (I'm more worried about the 50 year old studs in my walls than this product) but for my use case and the relatively light piece of wood I used, it works fantastic. Maybe get 2 sets if you are hanging something really heavy. I planned on gluing the wood to these brackets and to the brick below but I don't think it's fully necessary. I kinda like the idea of maybe swapping out the piece of wood if I get bored of this one.Make sure you have a nice 13/16" auger bit and/or the right equipment (and knowhow?) to drill the holes, I had a heck of a time drilling the holes in the back side of the mantle but I think that's mostly on me.10/10 would purchase again.

Excellent heavy duty brackets but tricky to align
Ordered 4 supports for a 8 foot long, 9" wide, 2" thick poplar board. The supports work great and and I could have used only 3 supports and it would have been just as sturdy. The installation of the supports was was easy and straightforward. I attached the supports directly to the studs by cutting away the drywall as recommended. Transferring those locations to the shelf was tricky. I used a different drill bit guide to drill the holes in the shelf because I thought I had a 3/4" bit already but I did not so it would have been cheaper and easier to buy the one recommended with these supports. I also didn't have a 6" long 3/4" drill bit but I have an 3/4" flexible auger bit (3 feet long) which gave me the extra depth needed for the supports. For my long shelf it was difficult to line up the supports to the back of the shelf since there is little to no clearance from the 3/4" drill bit in addition to supports not aligning straight with the studs. Even after loosening the supports to allow them to align themselves the shelf was difficult to slip over the supports. I tried mounting the shelf with 2 supports and it was much easier to slip the shelf on and off but it had a little too much give in the middle due to being unsupported. Adding in the additional 2 supports made the shelf much sturdier but greatly increased the difficulty aligning everything. If you are only using 2 supports it's not an issue but for a long shelf it is very fiddly.

Good design, well made in USA
Good design because you can toenail long screws into a 2x4 stud. Well made by small Midwest shop.

Strong but not consistently square
Very sting - but some brackets square - others were not. Made install more challenging

They worked great
These worked perfectly on a shelf that is eventually going to go all the way around a walk in closet I am doing for the wife in our 110 year old house. The first shelf I did was 13' long 14" deep 1 1/8" thick, the length was done with 2 6 1/2' boards (with 5 brackets per board) that I then pocket screwed together once up. As per the instructions I cut away the plaster and secured them to the studs, which with a oscillating multi-tool was easy to cut out. I then installed the outer 2 brackets leaving them loose and the 3 inner ones floating in the board. Once I had the shelf up I was able to tighten the outer 2 and install the inner 3. I had to do it this way because the studs on a 110 year old house are far from square. Once tightened, the rods would twist inside the hole locking the shelf in place. The hardest part of all of this was drilling the holes in the boards with a drill press because of their length. I only wish the backing plate was a little taller raising the screws up which would of made it easier to tighten once the shelf was up.The photo is of the unpainted shelf and the holes not yet plaster filled it did not show up as well once painted.

Worth Every Penny!!
These brackets are wonderful! They are well made, and sturdier than I could have hoped for.We installed them by cutting away the sheetrock over the studs and screwing them directly into the wall stud. This will make a world of difference if you plan on putting anything of substance on them.I was concerned that I would not be able to drill holes perfectly, so I built the shelves with a 1x top and bottom and a 3x (actual width 2.5) facing. You really can't tell they aren't solid wood, and it created the perfect hollow in the back to slide over the posts.Already planning on ordering more for some larger shelves going in on a different wall!!!

Seriously Heavy Duty
These are very heavy duty. The 3/4" diameter shafts are firmly welded to the base plates. You better make sure your holes are accurately aligned in all directions as there is no tweaking wiggle room, i.e. whacking with a hammer. You can adjust the tension of the screws into the wall the compensate horizontally slightly. Constantly check your drilling angle into the shelf (mine was a 2" thick, 8" deep live-edge slab of cherry weighing about 40 lbs). Here's a hint: put some vasaline on the shaft and drill a tiny hole in the bottom of the shelf out towards the end of the shaft's run into the shelf to relive the air pressure as the shaft glides onto the shelf. The shaft and a 3/4" drill hole are a very tight fit, as they should be.The good news is the shelf turned out great. Two of the brackets are are holding the shelf, a 27" iMac, and a heavy keyboard shelf with no settling of the shelf. All in all, a good product, but it requires precision when installing.
