I really love this cream! The texture is lightweight and absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy feeling. After a few weeks, I noticed my eye area looking smoother and healthier. Perfect for delicate areas like the eyes and neck. Highly recommended!

Like other products from Dr. Different's Retinal line, this eye and neck treatment have top-notch ingredients. This, like other retinoid products should be patch tested before you use it on your face since retinoids can cause irritation. Additionally, retinal with an "a" tends to be a bit harsher on your skin than retinol with an "o". So why Retinal instead of Retinol? First, tretinoin is the top dog of the family of retinoids. Its is retinoic acid, the stuff your skin can use. Retinol (with an O) has to be converted through two steps in the skin to become retinoic acid. Our skin isn't always great at the conversion though, so we don't always get all the retinoic acid we hope for out of the conversion. Retinal (with an A) is only one conversion step away from retinoic acid. So it only needs one step to become active in the skin and our skin is much more efficient at the conversion at this level. In a study there was a comparison of use of .05% retinal with .05% retinoic acid and they concluded that "at week 18, a significant reduction of the wrinkle and roughness features was observed with both retinaldehyde and retinoic acid." and the difference between the two was not statistically significant. So, retinal is as good as it gets without a prescription for tretinoin. Fantastic stuff for your skin. That said, if you have mature old lady skin like me, you still will. This stuff doesn't undo that damage that time and environment cause, but it can help delay additional signs of aging. This cream spreads fairly well, but on my neck in particular I prefer to apply it to slightly damp skin to help it spread. It's been a terrific addition to my skincare by helping keep my eye and neck area well moisturized and I know I'm putting good ingredients on. I'M NOT EVEN BOTHERING TO POST MY USUAL PHOTOS This moderately priced cream is pushing retinals and peptides as major players, and the box is designed to even make it resemble a prescription box, like Retin-A, but this is all MARKETING HYPE. Ingredient lists do not lie, and the truth will also contradict hype. THE TRUTH ABOUT RETINALS: "Retinoids" are a class of Vitamin A that boosts elastin and collagen in the skin to remove the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Retinoids come in 3 forms: Retina-A is prescription strength, Retinal is stronger than Retinol but weaker than Retin-A, and Retinol is the weakest and the typical OTC version that we buy in skincare brands. Vitalift Eye & Neck Night Cream pretends to be a contender with the middle version with the promise of better results since RETINAL is less potent than the prescription but more potent than Retinol. This would seem to be a good thing for the consumer -- a stronger version of the wrinkle fighter without a prescription. HOWEVER, and this is a big one: it's hard to find a formulation of RETINAL that you can use. There are very few products containing RETINAL, especially in a meaningful concentration. Consequently they're not popular or widely marketed. That's important because the RETINAL in this cream isn't a primary/main ingredient. It's #21 on a list of 32 ingredients, which makes it a minor ingredient in negligible concentration. For marketing purposes, the company has hyped its inclusion in the formula, along with peptides that aren't main ingredients either. Supposedly, 2% Vitamin B3 and .04% Adenosine are the active ingredients. Both are line/wrinkle fighters, but how can they be active ingredients listed above all others when they also come in low on the ingredient list at #10 and #19, respectively, out of 32 ingredients. Want to know the primary ingredients of this cream? #1 Water #2 A skin lubricant #3 Glycerin (a common moisturizing agent) #4 Squalane (a good moisturizer) #5 Safflower Seed Oil (an inexpensive, anti-inflammatory also good for acne) THERE'S NOT ONE THING IN THE MAIN INGREDIENTS THAT IS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A COMMON INGREDIENT NOT WORTH a $40 price tag, and will not give you notable Retinol results. In fact, it's just a moisturizer with an anti-inflammatory. According to the ingredient list, I wouldn't buy this gel serum for its hyped use, but only as a general moisturizer, and not even for that. WHY? It's a small tube that won't last long for eyes and neck. There are much better products that actually do what this product only claims to do, for less and more money. The serum is waxy, and feels slightly tacky and a bit thick once applied, like my skin couldn't breathe. It did nothing for the texture of the skin and I had a severe allergic reaction to the Safflower Oil, which I didn't know was in the formula when I ordered. Within minutes, my undereye skin was irritated with swelling. The reaction on my neck was even faster, and caused serious breathing problems, as I have allergy-induced asthma. Testing this product was mess. I had to remove the product immediately with Dove sensitive soap and take a Benadryl. It took several hours for the reaction and my breathing to get under control. The box does have a warning about skin irritation, but given the ingredient list, I wasn't expecting that reaction. Another reason not to believe marketing over facts. I've NEVER had any issues with Retinoids in any form or peptides, but those ingredients aren't cause for worry in this formula. No matter how impressive ingredient names are, if they appear below the main ingredients and especially toward the end of the list, their effect is meaningless. Not worth my time or the money. I am not forgiving of false advertising or hyped marketing that doesn't bear out the formulation and ingredient list. Retinal is less potent than prescription strength but more potent than retinol; however, it's really hard to find in a formulation you can use. There are very few products out there containing retinal, so they're not very popular or widely #21 out of 32 ingredients not a concentration that even matters

Yeah, this might seem a bit pricy for such a small tube, but it does pack a punch when it comes to having a great slew of ingredients within it. That I like. It doesn’t cause me irritation, nor any eye-burn, like some eye products do. Certain ones cause my eyes to leak or the under eye area to become reddened. Not this one. Is it worth it? Well, I see it does moisturize nicely. It’s not too thin nor thick, so the consistency is great. Have I seen results? To be honest, after a few weeks of usage, I can’t swear that I do see lines that vanished, but maybe just a wee bit of smoothing under the eye area. I have deep tear throughs that make me look tired and older, so I have gotten fillers in the past and am due for more, and so I hope this will help improve some of those wrinkles, so I can put aside a $4k fill and bill for a bit longer, as cash is tight right now, but still I am hopeful. All in all I think it’s a really good product, containing excellent ingredients, but not sure yet if it is worth the price, and I took off a star for that uncertainty, but I feel there’s still time for potential with this. If I see some true blue results, I’ll definitely update :)! For now, 4 stars! I do like it. I hope my review is helpful :).
