Cocoon Bike Basket for Pets, Red

I was looking for a dog basket for my new bike and everything in the market at or around the 50$ range was just not cutting it for me at the time so I decided to go ahead and splurge on this awesome Doggy Ride and I'm sure glad I did!I absolutely love the red color and prefer it over the other color options available for this basket and even though it doesn't match my bike it still gives it a nice pop of color and I don't mind that.Whoever designed this really put a LOT of thought in what anyone with a pet and bike could ever possibly need a basket for and I'm grateful for that.I will start with just using this a carrier and its practicality since you can change and use the straps any way you like and imagine.There are pockets in the back which I would have liked to be a little bigger so they could fit bulkier things but they work and at least you can use them for a few things.The top opens up pretty wide so it is very easy to put your baby in and out any time and anywhere you are.The plastic cover for the rain is very nice and think and it will definitely work if you go out in the rain with your pet but personally I will not be using that but its nice to have I guess if its ever needed.The black mesh is thick and seems to be made out of pretty heavy duty material so even if your pet tries to chew on it its not going to rip open during the first nibble, it lets enough sun light and air in as you would be getting (its not as dark in there as it looks in the picture).The install was pretty easy but maybe because of the style of my bike clipping the basket/bag on was a little tough but once it was on it wasn't going anywhere unless you clicked to release it.I would definitely recommend this and buy it again if I had to.

Edit - February 2016My 13lb furbaby has discovered the kitty food and is now up to 15 pounds. She still fits in the basket! We have not used the top cover but glad it still works. I would recommend this product still! end editI have a 13 lb furbaby who has separation anxiety. Any doggy psychiatrists out there? I love to ride bikes and saw this. I knew that she would be on the top end of the weight limit of 15 lbs. This is a bit small for her. She fits in it, loves to sit in it, most of her upper body and head are above the opening. I have NOT put the cover on it due to squishing her.The good: She does fit. its fairly easy to attach. It looks and feels sturdy.The Bad: We have to figure out a way to better support the basket. It tips forward and will NOT stay straight no matter how tight we make the fittings. So we are going to go look for either a front bike support that this could lean upon or rig something so it can not dip in the front. I would say that 10 pounds is really the maximum for this basket, not 15 pounds.Have not used the inside leash YET - but when I have used this a number of times, I will come back and review it again for how well it holds up and if we figured out a way to solve the dipping problem.

Update 9/16/14: We've been using ours for several months now. It's really great! Once I figured out how to attach it (original review was based on my inability to do that)....it's been terrific. Super fast and easy to remove and put back on when I need it. Our 6.5 pound dog fits in it nicely. It's taken me a little bit of time to get used to having additional weight up front on the bike, but it's a great way for us to take the pup downtown for dinner when we want to get there faster than walking. It's also great for bringing things hoem from the farmer's market. All in all...I really love this basket. 6/2/2014 -- Very nice response from the makers of the Cocoon here offering to help. Hopeful that we can get it working with my bike. Will keep you posted! Turns out I was not clipping it in right (they sent me a photo about how to do it and after seeing the photo, it's hard to see how I got it wrong!). Super fast and very helpful response from them!Original review: The basket itself seems great! Sturdy, inside clip to keep the dog in place, ability to zip the top to be sure she doesn't jump out... All good.Sadly, I rubs against the tires of my mountain bike when it's mounted. Honestly the way it's made, I can't figure out how it would not sag down on all bikes... But clearly it has worked for others. For us, it's totally useless. :-( I didn't save the packaging, so probably cannot return it. A very expensive lesson...I think this kind of product is something you have to buy at a bike shop wehre you can take your bike in and make sure it fits.

My little 6.1 pound Havanese absolutely LOVES her basket (she sometimes uses it as a bed). She has a lot of space to move around in. This basket is very sturdy. The bottom is solid, the surround of the basket is stiff so that the basket does not warp when on the bike with her in it. The quick attachment that stays on the bike is pretty easy to install. I monkied around a little with it just to make sure the basket and weight in it didn't tip downward. So, I had to compensate by angling it up just a smidge. This isn't a defect, I imagine everyone would want to do this to ensure their pup or (cat?) is sitting level to the ground. I did find that she was twisting herself up when I attached her harness to the short lead inside so, I've kept her unattached but ALWAYS with the screened top on and zippered up (unless we take breaks, then I unzip it for her). She moves around a little bit but mostly enjoys just hanging out watching. I would take some practice rides to get a feel for how your bike will ride with the added weight up front. It took me about 2 short rides to feel comfortable enough to take her on my regular 3-5 mile ride. The ability for her to join us has made our bike rides so much more fun and people love seeing her in there too. I would definitely recommend the DoggyRide for appropriately sized dogs.

Panier de très bonne qualité , j’ai reçue la couleur anthracite et non en couleur vert comme décrit , mais ce n’est pas grave sa me va très bien🙂 celui-ci sera fixé sur une poussette pour animaux et non sur un vélo 😁 je suis super contente de mon achat l’interieur est déhoussables pour le nettoyer il y a aussi un petit coussin, la sangle pour transporter le panier 🧺 peut - être disposer de plusieurs façon il y a le petit protège pluie . Et enfin je les reçu 3 jours avant la date prévu en choisissant la livraison avec 1euro de moins .
