Steelex Plus D2305 TiN Coated Brad Point Bit Set, 25-Piece

These bits are inferior in manufacturer. They will appear to wobble when in the drill, however, they are actually not straight (appear bent or curved). This can be verified when rolling a bit on a flat surface. They cause oblong or misshaped holes when used. My first set had a problem, the replacement set was the same. Guess I got what I paid for.

These bits are very good and I use them all the time both in my drill press and in my various drills. The brad points are great for the precise work I do on musical instruments.My only complaint is that the box allows the shaft of the bits to fall into a space behind the hinge and wedge the top open so it will not close. It is a project getting the bits back into their proper position. This is just bad design.Still, I would have no problem recommending these bits to a friend.

Same as others, I bought these on recommendation from Wood magazine, but I suspect (as others have mentioned) that they're not actually straight -- they're drilling holes substantially (1/32"?) bigger than the bit diameter. Do like the price, though.

The bits have the brad points exactly where they are supposed to be, right in the middle. The brad points keep the bits lined up right where they are supposed to go. They cut well in a variety of hard and soft woods. The plastic case / index is somewhat cheesy, but no worse than the blow molded cases on my other sets... I just expected a metal index from what I saw in the item picture.

What else can I say - no frills, just a super-rugged box full of heavy metal bits with TiN coating. Brad Points are getting harder and harder to find without paying an arm and a leg - I didn't expect the performance I get from these bits - and they get a workout every day. Just buy it and forget about it until they get to you - you wont be disappointed. Beautiful clean holes in virtually any stock you're working with.

What is there to say about drill bits? This set has all of the sizes I have needed including some hard to find x-64th sizes. They are quite sharp and useful in drilling clean holes in plywood and regular stock. A good buy for the price.

First of all, I realize I was taking a chance with cheap Chinese bits. I didn't expect they'd be wonderful.... but these are horrible... Basically unusable. I bought them so I could determine the best sizes for my application, and then I'd buy expensive carbide tipped bits for the few sizes I need. I'm going to return them.I ended up buying a Woodriver 29 piece set for $29.99 at a local woodworking store. I got lucky, they were on sale from $39.99. I would have purchased them at the non-sale price too. The Woodriver bits are also Chinese, but they are actually way better than the price I paid for them.

Bits are cut very rough. They have lots of nicks and scratches. Not acceptable for woodworking, I've returned them.The case is a joke. Can't get into it, once pried open the bit index will not flip open. Dismal.

These brad point bits are excellent and so far have remained sharp. My only issue was the quality of the container. One of the swivel or hinged points where the lid attaches to the body of the case was broken. I did not appreciate having to repair something brand new. Overall, it is a good product but the quality of the container does not match that of the bits.

Works as expected

I purchased these in February and started using them today. They work terrible! I first used the 1/2" bit, wasn't cutting....it was burning in soft wood. I examined the cutting edges, and one cutting edge was ground the wrong way. I grabbed the next smaller bit and wasn't much better. I have missing the window to return this item. Don't waste your money on these bits!
