Best cutting, drilling, and tapping fluid bar none.
Tap Magic was considered to be miracle fluid 45 years ago when I first used it. I liked it so well, that I husbanded a small 4 oz bottle from then till today. When I saw it was available on Amazon, I immediately bought another 1oz. I don't know if they have a bulk solution for industrial use in CNC or other production equip, but for the small shop, it's a life saverTap magic will allow a high carbon tap or die, (rather than true high speed steel), to cut clean, tear free threads in mild steel, un-tempered drill rod, and especially hard to thread material like soft aluminum. It has a unique (in my experience) "crackling" sound when cutting threads in aluminum that I've never experienced in other fluids. No practical property there, but it does let you know your using the good stuff. All that, and its easy cleanup, and pleasant smelling. You won't be disappointed. Much more pleasant than that dark sticky, smelly sulpher based fluid usually used in threading operations. Sticks to the metal, so you will us much less fluid.

Great size bottle and works good to help drill stainless, mild, and aluminum
I use this when drilling holes for welding jobs in stainless, mild, and aluminum. It does seem to help enough for me to notice. My friend who does fire sprinkler installations said it smells like the linseed oil they use when threading pipe. Which is maybe one of it's ingredients. I can't imagine why anyone would want to buy t he smaller bottles when the price difference is that small. Glad I got this one so I can use it without hesitation.

Wrong product description and picture...
Product description of (Packing Type - Can w/Spout) and the picture shown are incorrect. The product is not the can type but a plastic bottle which is harder to use and also leaks from around the lid when trying to use. I have reported for a correction/update. I would not have purchased this version had I known it was the plastic bottle and not the can.11/14/2017 - UpdateOne week later 11/14/2017... since reporting to Amazon 11/07/2014 that this page is has the wrong product description and wrong picture of the product.

Works okay as a tapping/ cutting fluid. VERY low viscosity and VERY corrosive, especially on zinc and brass. I would not recommend using on a lathe or milling machine as the directions instruct you to wipe all surfaces and remove all fluid to prevent corrosion. Being as thin and apt to flow as it is, it is thrown off of high speed operations like milling or turning. If I had known this, I would not have bought it.

A must have if you are tapping holes.
There is not much to say, this is a must have if you are tapping holes. Without this you are just begging to break your taps.

the bottle looked funny
The bottle looked old and caved in, i kept it because i had to use it, but i don't know if the oil quality is still the same. its for drilling metals and i am not a professional, use your judgment.

Great product.
If you work with metal this is what you need. Clean cuts, clean holes and great tool life.

Works as intended
This version seems to have a different scent than a previous purchase. Not sure if they changed the formula or not. Seems to perform the same otherwise.
