Works well. I added a 500 MB WD drive to the enclosure. It worked first attempt. Plugs directly into 115 vac outlet. No power cube needed. I purchased a second unit for another drive that I plan tonuse as a backup drive for "My Cloud" drive.

I had an old desktop that finally died on me. I salvaged the reusable components, including a 1 TB hard drive. The new computer's hard drive was a bit on the small side, so I ordered this casing and installed the 1 TB drive. Plugged in the power cord and the USB and now I have plenty of drive space!

I didnt use their tech support, and i do not have sleep mode enabled in my usb stack.

I bought this for an external HD for a Plex server. I bought it because the Ad said nothing about an energy saving feature. I don't want nor need that feature on a server. I want it running all the time. It's easy to override it in Win 10......not so easy if you're using OSMC, or RPi's OS. I never would have purchased it had it stated it had an energy saving feature that shut the HD down after 3 minutes. Disappointed in this purchase. It also claims it's tool less but screws are provided to lock in the HD to the enclosure. It also has a blue power on light...it's so small that it's unnoticeable. One star at most. Update: With a Seagate HD that can be seen on 3 different computers, I put that HD in this enclosure. None of the computers could access it. Turns out, 2 of my 3 Win 10 computers recognize it as a Lite-on SCSI drive and not the SATA drive as advertised. Thus, the advantages of an external drive being able to plug and play into any computer simply won't work. I would avoid this product.

Bout this thing for my mini pc plex server, it has lasted about a year but just up and died suddenly. The device was no moved for anything other than cleaning and had plenty of airflow so not sure what went wrong.

Client and I bought several of these. CAN NOT control shutdown as suggested under Linux or Apple! Uncontrolled disconnects follow shutdown, resulting in improper allocation records, etc. DAMAGING DATA and requiring MANY HOURS to ATTEMPT data recovery on large drives! DO NOT BUY!!! DO NOT EVER USE IN A PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT!!! DO NOT BUY ANY ADAPTER THAT HAS A "SLEEP" (RUIN) MODE!

Fue muy fácil de usar, el disco corre a la perfección dentro de la carcasa.
