.5 PVC Pipe - is the bottom of this pipe open?

No, it isn't. The tee fitting has an internal dome cap pre-installed blocking the airway that would travel down the bottom portion of the 1.5-inch PVC pipe. A bolt is installed at the bottom of the pipe to lock it in place.

Will this hook up to a Vacmaster Pro 5.5 which has a screw on hose?

Yes, the included hose adapters allow the Mullet cyclone's PVC setup to connect directly into the Vacmaster's inlet. We 3D print and provide for free a threaded adapter to mate the threaded hose to the Mullet cyclone's inlet allowing you to still use your Vacmaster hose.

can you wet sand with this? can it pick up mosit/wet dust, as from a sander?

Yes, you can absolutely use this with wet sanding. You should see very good separation of moisture/debris into the dump bin. Pickup with wet sanding can be difficult due to the added weight of the moist dust. But if your sanding and vac setup can pick it up, the cyclone will separate it.

Does the cyclone attach to a Karcher WD5 shop vac (has a keyed hose connector)?

Other brands have a keyed hose connector that works with the included Mullet Wet Dry Vac Hose Adapters, but the Karcher hose hasn't been examined yet. Could you snap a couple of pictures of it and send them plus the hose diameter to gus@mullettools.com? We'll get this sorted out as soon as possible.
