Motivational but no real substance
I was disappointed but not surprised by the lack of substance this book provided. It's a nice motivational book but it doesn't really help you in starting your own business. The content on Carrie's blog and website are very similar: a lot of encouragement but not very deep. I just started my business and I've gathered a lot of helpful advice and ideas for FREE online but I paid for this book and most of what I got from it, I could have found online at little to no cost. I think the book is nice if you're feeling down about the direction of your business and need a boost but even still, the book didn't necessarily motivate me. In fact, it disheartened me a bit because Carrie had this supportive network of people to help her and give business advice which most of us who are just starting our business do not have. Her so called "encouragement" was unrealistic for those who are starting a business from scratch and have no real support or mentors to reach out to. Majority of the book was just giving examples of business success stories from friends of hers and they too had some sort of support, whether it be from Carrie herself or family. Not everyone has that kind of luxury and privilege to have a group of people in high places who are behind you all the way and will reach out to help as much as they can. Bottomline, this book will make you feel good at the beginning but won't give you a realistic approach to starting and maintaining a successful business.

Maybe the Best self-help/inspirational book, EVER!
Blown away by this book, it is perhaps my all-time favorite self-help/entrepreneurial book and I am going to read it many times before I am through! I had to get both the audio and paperback versions to use together, and the down to earth insight has me ready to go out and tackle the world. I know Carrie caters to women entrepreneurs (and yes, I am a man), but I would have to place her right at the top of my go to inspirations Down to earth, easy to understand, easy to relate to, and all around sound advice and inspiration. Sorry ladies, but as guy I thinks this book and this woman, ... ROCK!

A book with practical action steps you can do
I appreciate Carrie Green and her teachings, but initially I was hesitant to purchase this book. I thought to myself do I really need another book with more information on how to be a successful entrepreneur. Now don't get me wrong I can be an information junkie, but sometimes that's all it is information without practical instruction. Well I gave in and decided to purchase this book and I am very glad I did. First of all Carrie infuses her story throughout the book, which makes it very relatable. The chapters are short and to the point and have practical action steps for you to take. Not only does Carrie discuss the nuts and bolts on how to start, build and grow your business she also has several chapters on mindset and self-care. Things us entrepreneurs tend to forget about. Throughout the book Carrie uses words to celebrates and encourage you. It is if she is right beside you cheering you on. Helping you to believe you can have a successful business.I highly recommend this book for all entrepreneurs no matter what stage you are in their business. It's s book I will read often.

Book is not helpful for someone starting a new business or in their first few years.
This book is already on its way to Goodwill. I read the first 30 pages or so, and she talks about how she made it big with a business unlocking cell phones. But she doesn't tell you HOW that happened or how to replicate her success. Then she talks about how she was so nervous at one of her first speeches in front of 1000 people, but she doesn't tell you HOW she got to that point - she was just asked. And she tells you how she started an online women's entrepreneur group, but not HOW! Entrepreneurs who are just trying to get their businesses off the ground need legitimate and realistic steps to take for becoming successful -- no steps in this book unless they're beyond page 30!

She Means Business Is A Must Read For Any Serious Female Entrepreneur!
If you are a serious female entrepreneur or want to be one, and are going to purchase a single book to learn from, this is the one! I have been a business owner for 18 years, and it is important to always be learning. I've read many business & personal development books throughout the years. But "She Means Business" is more than a book. This is a business course. It is a blueprint on how to actually go through the steps, change your mindset, and even includes downloadable resources, a private Facebook group, webinars and so much more! I purchased both the hard copy book & the audio book. I've listened to the audio book 3 times in 3 weeks since the book came on the market. I think having both has been the perfect bundle for me! The author, Carrie Green, is the narrator, and really gives the book life. If you've ever watched & listened to Carrie online, you quickly get to know her personality, and that is carried through in her book. In the 3 times I have listened to it, I "hear" valuable points that I didn't quite hear the first time (or second time). When reading the book, I am able to connect her voice with the words and it really resonates with me even more. This resource is truly worth thousands of dollars. Carrie is a visionary. She brings great wisdom, and backs it up with her own trials & tribulations, plus has the vision to help every female entrepreneur that wants help. I am impressed that a woman as young as Carrie has made such great strides professionally, and has the maturity & business know-how of a much more seasoned successful business woman. You won't find another exceptional business resource like this that is so affordable! I also highly recommend soaking up as many resources as you can from Carrie online. She will help you change your life for the better-if you are ready!

100% saccharine, 0% nutritional value.
A vapid exercise in affirmation, mood boards and hand holding. It exists to fill the reader with warm and fuzzy cheerleading perhaps to distract them from its complete lack of useful business content or discussion of unique challenges facing women in the marletplace. A book that exists to give women permission to 'feel good' about wanting to be an entrepreneur isn't empowering. It's perpetuating the idea that permission is necessary in the first place.

There is no real business advice in this.
If you want positive affirmations, glib sentences about " going out there and following your dream", and other such vague words, then this is the book for you.Carrie is clearly successful, her book comes from a good place but it absolutely does not provide any kind of blueprint for a successful business. I bought it some time ago, read some of it and gave up. I came back to the book recently, and realised exactly why I had given up. It's full of platitudes, morale boosting one liners and fluff presented to women who want to start businesses.I'm sure this book helps those needing a feel good fix- " yeay you are a rockstar and you can smash this" but for any woman serious about a business, serious about understanding the finances, the strategies and development of a successful business, it's nothing more than fairy dust being sprinkled around.

It will motivate and inspire you!
Carrie shares her honest story of her entrepreneural journey, the struggles, the up's and downs and the wins. I love the valuable lessons and guidance that Carrie offers within the book as well as actionable tasks to help you with your own journey. I had so many light bulb moments and takeways from reading this book. It is a must read for all female entrepreneurs, whether you have been in business for a while or just started out. It will motivate you and inspire you. Thank you Carrie for writing such an amazing and helpful book. I will definately be reading it over and over again!

Inspiration
Having recently begun my journey into entrepreneurship I've been faced with both the Negative Committee and naysayers telling me I'm going to fail, to be careful and to watch my step. Well guess what? I ordered She Means Business on the middle of my studio refurbishment and was overjoyed when it arrived shortly after we reopened. Since then I have leapt in with both feet and I am finally turning a profit only 6 months into opening my studio! It's an amazing feeling when you meet someone that truly 'gets' you, and I felt as though this book did that for me! Its wonderful to be able to read inspiring stores from other female entrepreneurs, now I've added to my dream board to join the FEA the next time I take a dividend and I can't wait!(I've added before and after photos of my studio just for sheer excitement that it's finished and my positive attitude when I'd normally be feeling glum and burnt out is thanks to our Carrie!)

it's brilliant, inspiring and full of great tips to implement in your business.
You will lose a couple of days of your life once you start reading the first page. I literally devoured Carrie's book in two days. Couldn't put it down. It's a remarkably different business book in terms of practicality and reality. Carrie really explains her humble beginnings and where her business idea came from, which I loved reading about. Whilst I've always believed that a positive mindset can literally change your small business, Carrie reaffirmed my belief and highlighted that if she can build an incredibly successful business than so can anyone with the right goal setting abilities and by taking small steps of action each and every day. The book is split in to three sections - the first is all about how setting your goals, aligning yourself to them, being and staying positive, and creating a mindset that sets you on Mission:Success is key to starting any business. Part two focuses on the nitty gritty of your business, how to find and inject you and your personality into your brand and get yourself out there in front of the customers who need you the most, how to shine, how to switch off to others and how to focus on your goals to build your business. Part three focuses on really going for it... how to keep going, how to have faith and believe in yourself, how to move on from mistakes and to keep moving forward whilst all the time taking care of yourself too. There's also a great 28-day challenge at the end to kick-start your creativity and your business ideas, and whilst I am somewhat further into my entrepreneurial journey it's really helped me to re-evaluate my business again and remind myself of the vision I have for my business too - I discovered I even had new ideas too!Overall - it's brilliant, inspiring and full of great tips for you to implement in your business. But remember when you buy the book, pop some page markers into your basket too - mine is full of them as there are so many tips!

Looking forward to being an FEA Member!
Carrie really has taken you through her journey as an entrepreneur. I've read similar books in the past, but never finished them because I just couldn't relate to the author. Carrie has kept her journey real and given such a lot of advice that I feel able to digest along with content and workbooks in addition. Apart from having her as my personal mentor which would be the icing on the cake! She has produced material to enable the reader to develop their business as if she was by your side all the way. I am yet to be accepted as a She Means Business member, but envisage further supportive materials to help me focus and grow my business, learning opportunities and a FEA community to share and grow with. Well done Carrie and thank you for the foresight you have had and the courage to keep going. A real inspiration.
