Los Logos: Compass Hardcover – August 1, 2010

I first got into Gestalten's books when I saw the second Los Logos book (Dos Logos) in Paris. This one is even better though. Sure, it's bulkier and looks different next to the other four on my bookshelf. But now I know why: It's one you can learn a lot from too! Lots of handy tips for logo designers and companies on how to design your logo and what it should say about you. A great addition to the rest of the series, and they haven't let me down yet.

wonderful! I came across this edition working at a design firm and ordered it that night. The later editions from what I could tell began to collect more experimental styles, but this one landed in a very solid zone for a good mix of classic/progressive logo building and marks. Great stuff.

excellent book that continues the collection of "logos". The collected material is very good, but does not exceed the previous editions. Although I didn't loved the new vertical format but still is a good fit for your library.

I was missing 3 books to complete my Los Logos collection, I love these books! Nothing to complain about, I got it on time and very well packed.

Great book for logos. It sits next to me at work and I go through it almost everyday. Good buy if you looking for a logo book.

Wow! Packed to the max, this fifth edition of the Los Logos series contains a ridiculous amount of information and logos but comes this time organized by smart categories such as "pre-school" and "ornamental". It also argues for a renaissance of the more detailed and hand-drawn aesthetic, a return to authenticity in design. These logo books are all must-have resources in my mind, but Compass is obviously the most recent (and relevant). But it's also the most comprehensive. I'm impressed.

If there could be a wikipedia on logos, this must be it. The entire series -- Los Logos: Compass is the fifth edition -- runs like an encyclopedia of logo designs, tracking trends and the most cutting-edge examples. I was immediately engaged by this excellent compilation of advertising, branding, identity and emerging digital design work. Educational, obviously, but more importantly: fun to flip through.

I found this book brilliant for a bit of inspiration while working on logos which is what I wanted it for. Not many other books out there that are so extensive in what they show. Good if your a bit low on ideas or lacking that bit of oomph you need to get started.

Egal welche Seite man aufschlägt, man entdeckt immer wieder was neues irgendwie und die Beispiele sind alle super. Ich finde es eine geniale Inspiration für Logodesign und Design allgemein. Tolle Aufmachung und ein sehr hochwertig produziertes Buch. Alle Daumen hoch!
