9" traditional panel icon This icon is entitled "Extreme Humility" or "Christ the Bridegroom" and is classically the primary icon used at bridegroom matins. This version is an ancient Russian copy, but usually it shows the Savior clothed with a robe and reed staff (instruments used when the soldiers mocked the Savior). This mocking of the creator of the galaxies, by his own creation, clearly illustrates the title of "Extreme Humility."
