Okay, I hated giving 3 stars, but here's why. First off, good luck getting the silicone sleeve of the case off with your fingers to start the installation. I had to use a flathead screwdriver to pry it off. Once you do that, the rest of the installation is easy, but the instructions are horrible on how to initially take the silicone sleeve of the case off. I included pictures of the instructions, the picture of me prying off the silicone sleeve with the screwdriver. It scares me if I ever have to take this case apart and use a flathead screwdriver with my ipad mini inside. It's not that big of a deal using the screwdriver on the initial install because worst case you break the case without the ipad mini in it. Make sure you peel the blue film off before putting the top internal cover on. Pretty much there should be another step between step 3 and step 4 that says to peel the blue film off, luckily I read this in other reviews. The leather strap is adjustable, but barely. I took a picture of how you adjust it and you would want to do that without the whole case put together. It does seem like it is built like a tank, but god help you if you put the case on upside down or something and need to take it apart again. I'm pretty tech savvy and am an IT Specialist full-time, but this was still hard to initially get the silicone sleeve off. The rest is easy once you do that part. Also, with the kickstand, when you extend it, at first I thought I was going to break it, but then it extended some more to where I thought it should be. One important note when closing the kickstand, you kind of have to push in this little button to push the kickstand back in to close it. I took a picture of that also. You'll understand what I mean when you see it in person.

I accidentally bought this case thinking it was the newtrent case (which I have for my other ipads). It's got the same bottle opener style kickstand and brown leather hand strap, but the build quality is quite a bit worse than the newtrent case.This case appears to be rugged and offer the same degree of drop / bump protection as the newtrent case, but the kickstand, port covers, and hand strap / rotation mechanism are noticeably worse than on the newtrent case. The kickstand on the newtrent cases is made of metal. On this case, it's plastic. The port covers on the newtrent are thicker, and the rotation piece has a more robust latching mechanism and rotates with a satisfying metallic click. This case' rotation mechanism uses plastic and feels flimsy in comparison.This is a fine case, but after experiencing both side-by-side, I'd highly recommend spending the extra few bucks on the newtrent case.

I have had this case for 2&1/2 years and I LOVE IT! I use my iPad daily for work and I also let my kids watch movies on it when we're out and about sometimes.The pros:• it's easy to hold, the leather strap is comfortable to hold and makes it slipping out of your hands while working nearly impossible.• I've dropped this iPad (off counters, tables,out of my purse, etc.) no less than 100 times (if we're being honest, it's much closer to 300) and this case has kept it safe every time.• the little kickstand is really nice for the kids when they are watching something on it.The cons:• as my picture shows, it has discolored with time. That is NOT dirt or anything, the plastic itself discolored, I'm assuming from heat.• the leather strap has some wear, but honestly it's holding up well for how much we use it and how long we've had it.• the screen protector does make the screen darker, but you will get used to it and then you won't even notice it at all anymore.In conclusion, I highly recommend this case!

Just got the case. The rubber outer sleeve, while being a bit bulky, seems like it will provide nice protection. It was quite difficult to get that sleeve off in order to take the case apart. A butter knife and some vigorous prying did the job. After that, setup was simple. I'm glad that I saw previous posts about removing the blue cellophane protective film from the screen protector, since the instructions don't mention that at all. At first I thought that the hand strap was just a gimmick, but I think it will actually be kind of handy (no pun intended). I deducted a star because instead of the nice gold color shown, the case is a tan or beige kind of color. Not a favorite of mine, but not irritating enough for me to want to send it back. Aside from the color, I am pretty pleased with this case and would recommend it.

The color appears gold in the picture, and is even described as "Gold." We picked it because our iPad 4 was the same shade of gold. However, the case arrived, and it is very much beige. A flat, tan color. Had we known that, we probably would have gone with a darker color to hide normal wear and tear. While the color is not enough to give it a bad review, I thought it was fair to mention it. Otherwise, the product is holding up well. The screen is easy to use with the protective layer, and it goes together easy enough. It doesn't look dirty, and we have no bubbles or issues with screen distortion. Chargers can fit in without a problem, but you'll need an extender for the headphone jack if you use anything other than headphones.Had a part break on the item, and the company issued a brand new item to replace the damaged one. They worked fast and courteously, and they made sure to inform me of the steps they were taking. Would not only recommend the product but the seller too. I had a new one within days.
