Jupiter - Perpetual Motion, 12 inch

This item shipped too slowly in my opinion, it did come within the estimated time-frame but not until the last day. The item was as advertised and I rather enjoy it, anyone else here saying the item doesn't work or is a piece of garbage either got a broken item (which happens and is no fault of the seller in my opinion) or simply does not understand what this item is or how it is supposed to work.It is plastic as stated in the description but I've had no problems with that and it is solid and well put together, I've had not one issue with mine and it runs smoothly all day long. I have mine on my desk in my home office and get it going first thing in the morning and keep it going until I finish working for the day when I stop its motion to save battery life (and really what's the point of running it if I'm not around to see it), it's really nice to look at form time to time and gives me a nice little break when I've been concentrating hard on work for too long. It does make a very quiet noise, from the metal bar that goes in the holder rubbing against the plastic, it has never bothered me and I work in a noiseless office most of the time other than keyboard strokes (I rarely even notice the noise and when I do it just sounds like rhythmic white noise to me which I never mind)If you're looking for a nice inexpensive motion piece for your office or coffee table I highly recommend this item, it does exactly what it is supposed to and as stated before is very pleasing to look at and offers a much needed break from staring at a computer screen or TV for too long. I don't have one complaint with this item and look forward to getting a different model for another spot in my house. I hope this has been helpful to those trying to decide whether or not this is worth the $15-$20, it definitely is.

I bought a couple perpetual motion models and this one is by far my favorite. It doesn't have as many pieces as the others, but when it is moving it is so much cooler and works a lot better. It also takes batteries but will run non-stop. I usually stop moving it when I am not around to keep the batteries lasting longer. I notice some people have issues with draining the batteries right away, but so far it's been 2 weeks and it hasn't slowed down at all for me. My brother has autism and when he comes to visit he really likes it and it calms him in stressful situations. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for perpetual motion toys.

I love the colorful balls and the idea of perputual motion and while at work sometimes you need a nice, fun distraction. I've added the Jupiter to my collection. Currently I have a magnetic floating earth globe that rotates and has been a HUGE success, everyone has to touch it and everyone has to question how it can do that!? Now I proudly add Jupiter to my amazing toys that definitely entertain anyone in my office. Although I did not know that it required a battery so depending on the life of the battery will depend on how long my Jupiter flips & spins around, one thing for sure, when the battery is dead, it will be replaced so order is restored in my office.

Mine came with some slightly bent posts - they are made of crude iron so the posts can only be bent so far until they break. Be careful. If the posts are straight this works as advertized and the 9v battery will run the unit for weeks. Mesmerizing for young inquisitive minds.

I bought this as a gift for a friend of mine who works in an office. He had bought a Newton's Cradle toy and was disappointed that he couldn't get it to perpetually move. This toy is awesome and, as far as I know, once it starts it doesn't stop until you make it stop.

didn't work, even after I went to get my batter. Neat concept, but the execution was no good.

There is not much to say, really. I changed the batteries. It didn't work and sent it back. Neat idea but the product is obviously defective.

Neat product! It takes a battery and goes and goes and goes! I really like it and would recommend it! :)
