1 Gallon 100% Natural Castile Soap

I almost didn't order since several reviewers noted an odor they couldn't get past. I am so glad I chose to ignore them! The smell is not overpowering, it's castile soap smell. No heavy perfumes like commercial products that cover up everything they put in it them.This is a good pure product. I did order some essential oils so everyone in the family can have their own bottle and "smell" their own way. However we've been using castile soaps since my 28 year old daughter was a baby. She has eczema and anything else irritates her skin. For her perfume free and irritant free is a must! If its good for her sensitive skin its the only thing I will use for the rest of my family. The most famous of the castile soaps is soooo expensive but we've had this brand for over a week and no ill side effects and the price is great!. It's just as clean feeling when we use it and most importantly my daughter reports no irritation.

I was VERY skeptical at first when I saw how thin this castile soap appears to be, BUT it works GREAT in my foaming hand soap dispensers. I use LESS of this than the other castile soaps I was using & it foams GREAT, does NOT dry out the skin, does NOT irritate the skin, & smells neutral on the hands. My family has VERY sensitive skin & this has NOT caused any reactions.I WILL purchase more of this in the future if the price does not increase.

Needing an alternative to the popular doctor-you-know-who's Unscented Castile Liquid Soap, I nervously ordered this. I was more than happy with this soap base! This has almost no scent, it is wonderfully mild on hands/face, and yet very cleansing for my home-blend of all-purpose spraycleanser. DILUTE! Just as the more poplar Castile, you dilute this. In foaming-hand-pump dispenser: 5oz purified Water into dispenser, then in measure cup, 3oz NATURAL CASTILE SOAP, add Essential Oil's for scent & beneficial properties, stir well, then pour soap into water, stir well. Makes a great custom face/hand cleanser.

Daily use soap for taking a shower. I bought some mint oil and mixed some in to mimic that other brand of castille soap. Saved money and works exactly the same. No difference in lather or anything else. Will buy again if the price is right when I need to get a new bottle.

We purchased this to make foaming hand soap. We had used another brand of castile soap for that previously, and we find that this brand makes a much thicker and richer lather than did the previous brand. We're sure that this would be useful for a whole host of other purposes, but for the present we're only using it for the hand soap. For that use we are very pleased.

This product contains Sodium Laurate which is considered to be a hazardous substance (detergent) and almost blinded my left eye when the soap dispenser accidently squirted this soap directly into my left eye as I was trying to wash my hands. Thank heavens my opthamologist examined me right away and I was told that 50% of my cornea had a chemical burn from the sodium laurate . I was on eye antibiotics and steroids for almost two weeks before most of my left eyesight was restored. It is still slighty blurry, though. The product states it is 100% natural castile soap and made with 100% percent vegetable oils. Sodium laurate is banned by the EU because it is known to cause serious eye damage. And it is considered a hazardous substance according to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200. Why is this in soap products used in the shower and hand washing?

I was using a different brand of this kind of liquid soap and in comparison this is really thin, which means I use it up faster. It works fine otherwise. The price point is good. The other product had a little citrus smell and this is totally neutral in that regard. I liked the citrusy one better in regards to fragrance which is odd because I started using these to avoid fragrances and additives. I guess you can't have it both ways!

I bought this because I use Castile soap to do household cleaning, washing up, and as shampoo. I was going through Dr.B's soap quickly and I wanted a more cost effective product. This soap was it. It is not as pleasantly scented as others but it gets the job done (you can always add essential oils to get your desired scent). This feels more concentrated than what I'm used to, but I'm not complaining because that means I can use even less. Overall, I am very satisfied with this soap and the price. It makes being environmentally friendly easier.
