Mujingfang Ebony Miniature Rebate Plane

This little plane has turned out to be excellent and I use it almost every time I am in the shop. It has turned into my goto plane for glue-line clean up on both panels and corners. Also on other little clean-up tasks where it works better than a chisel in many instances.Definitely an asian-style pull plane and works best when holding it similar to a leather swivel knife. I.e. index finger on the back pulling, with the thumb and other fingers on the sides to guide, not grip. Working it with a push stroke (tight corners for example) can be awkward takes some trial and error. I usually end up holding the sides with one hand and pushing with the thumb of my other hand. Trying to go with a one-handed push stroke almost always ends up gouging something.The factory edge was typically meh, but the iron readily took a proper edge and seems to maintain it well. The iron is a bit fiddly to adjust, but this is due to the plane's tiny size and not the construction. The construction appears solid and the plane is better made than most Asian sourced tools I have seen.
