Buy the re-issued Deluxe Edition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure why Amazon grouped reviews for the re- release with the old release as they're entirely different beasts but that's besides the point. This is an amazing album regardless and one of if not my favorite album/s of all time. Mad Season was an American rock supergroup formed in Seattle, Washington in 1994 by members of three grunge pioneers: Alice in Chains vocalist Layne Staley, Pearl Jam (and side project Temple of the Dog with Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell which you should also look into) guitarist Mike McCready and Screaming Trees drummer Barret Martin. On bass John Baker Saunders, a blues talent in bands such as Little Pat Rushing, Hubert Sumlin, Sammy Fender, and The Lamont Cranston Band. Mark Lanegan also of Screaming Trees Rounds out the group with guest vocals on I'm Above and Long Gone Day. This Re-issue is simply amazing, from the forward written by Barret Martin that completely captured the mindset of the 90's and nearly brought a tear to my eye to the photos included in the brief but welcomed booklet you can tell this whole re-issue was made from love for the grunge movement and most importantly with respect to the fans and the artists involved some of whom are no longer with us. The album itself 'Above' is completely remastered and sounds more amazing than ever. I own the original album and I can tell you personally that it sounds leaps and bounds better that the previous release. Saunder's walking bass lines and McCready's soul filled guitar riffs have never sounded better. This re-issue also includes an additional music CD of Mad Season's Live at the Moore show. One of the rare few the band ever performed and also one of Layne Staley's last gigs(remastered in superb audio) and a dvd showing said Live at the Moore concert that was previously only available on vhs (and in poor quality at that) remastered, reworked, and remixed into 5.1 dolby digital surround that sounds truly amazing and Stereo (which I personally can't vouch for) Bonus Features included on the dvd include unseen footage from the Live at the Moore concert of Wake up, Artificial Read, I'm above and a John Lennon cover 'I don't wanna be a soldier' Also inlcuded is the RKCNDY New Year's Eve Convert filmed months before the initial release of 'Above' by hand cam (also remastered in 5.1 digital surround and stereo) as well as a music video for River Of Deceit and two more performances of Lifeless Dead and I Don't Know Anthing for a radio station in complete raw form. The real surprise here and the main reason for throwing down the money for a re-issue even if you already own the original cd or the Live at the Moore vhs is the RKCNDY New Years Eve show. I was fortunate enough to own a copy of the vhs concert of the At the Moore concert which is as previously stated remastered here completely (audio and visually) but the new years eve show only remastered audio wise and shot with a raw hand cam really shows the talent of the band and makes you feel like you were a part of something amazing that very few have ever seen and unless this re-issue catches on never will ever see. Mad Season is a testament to what nineties music was all about, exploration of self expression and a true artistic Projection of the soul. If you're a Mad Season fan, an Alice IN Chains fan, a Pearl Jam Fan or a Screaming trees fan you own it to yourself to own this album. The Re-issue makes the deal even sweeter.

Awesome so much greatness
I had the Mad Season Live At The Moore on VHS. I no longer have a working VHS. This is even better. Dave made the sound much better as well as added as added bonus music. You seriously cannot go wrong for this. Not only do you get the CD's with the music but you also get this DVD and it is worth the price alone.

members from Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains. As well as screaming trees were Mad Season.
Albums like this appear once every generation if one is lucky. The album is good from start to finish it has three CDs one is a live concert at the moore theater in Seattle the other is the album version and the last is the DVD of the performance at the Moore theater. Layne playing and singing ‘ I do t know anything’ was , well kick ass. Highly recommend this masterpiece.

The one thing that comes to Mind is absolutely amazing!!
If you are a fan of Madseason in any kind of way you will love this trio. It has the studio album, the live at the Moore album and the Live @ the Moore concert. Which just so happens to be one of the best concerts ever, in my opinion. Like I said If you have any interest in Madseason you will like this. If you are a super fan (like me) you will absolutely LOVE this. It gets 5 stars from me!! Check it out. You will not be sorry. ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Deluxe edition worth it for the concert videos
I've had this album in my colleciton since the late 90's. As others here have said, this is a must-have for any Alice in Chains fan.I wasn't aware of this deluxe edition being released. It came up in my Amazon suggestions and looked very interesting, so I grabbed it.I hadn't listened to this album in a number of years, so it was great to rediscover it. What blew me away though was the concert video which I had never seen. These guys were an INCREDIBLE live band. Layne's vocals are just amazing - dead on with such emotion! As I watched, I just couldn't stop thinking about what an amazing talent the world lost when Layne died. So unique and talented.Mike McCreedy is on fire! I never truely appreciated his guitar playing until watching him perform in this video. Wow!!

Excellent Album!
Awesome album enhanced with even more content (previously unavailable). A worthwhile purchase for those that are tired of the uninspired music that is gracing the radio today.

Great reissue!
The sound of "above" is unique. Mad Season really had their own sound. Layne sang in a way that didn't make you think much of AIC (maybe in "Lifeless Dead" and "I don't know anything").The sound of McReady is unique as well and only in his guitar solos you'll think of Pearl Jam. Barret and Saunders play amazingly. The performances on the live DVD are amazing and show a band of artists at their peek. Layne was still having his voice unharmed. Nalgas Sin Carne offers a great performance as well.I also like they included some unreleased material and the new songs with Lanegan. If you already had it on CD still is worth to have this copy.
