Handcrafted shelf with a drop down door that reveals a hidden compartment. Its made of distressed pine. It measures overall approximately 17 1/2" side to side, 7 1/2" front to back and 4 1/4" tall. The inside area measures 13 1/2" wide, 5 1/2" front to back and 2 3/4" top to bottom. In between the hinges is about 10 1/4". The bottom is covered with a carpet liner. You have quick access to the bottom compartment by pulling on either the right or left upper corners of the door. It looks like a decorative part of the shelf. The hinges are spring loaded and hold the door in the open and closed position. Screw are used to assemble the primary supporting structure. Rated at a 20lb capacity total inside and out to be on the safe side. There are 2 pre drilled mounting holes. Hardware to mount it to either a solid wood surface or drywall included. For drywall installs you will use one wood screw in one hole into a wall stud and a heavy duty drywall anchor in the other hole. Comes unfinished (no stain) or choose from 4 different stain color options (gunstock, jacobean, red mahogany, and walnut). The shelf pictured is stained walnut. VCT is the real deal
I couldn't be more pleased with the experience and product I received. After purchasing on Amazon, I immediately wrote VCT about eliminating the screw holes because I want to be able to place the Shelf in a unique area. I also did not want the wood stressed . I received an email acknowledging my requests almost immediately. Even though there was custom work, it arrived in short order. Less than 10 days to my door. The condition of the shelf was perfect, including the fact that they did not stress the wood as I requested they not. They must have little elves in their workshop. Everything was to perfection including the fit and finish of the Secret Door. The wood was straight and unbowed. It might be Pine but it is a nice Shelf. I even liked that they did not include a sealer. I would prefer to do that myself or let the wood age naturally. The price that I paid was fair. The product is excellent! I will be ordering from these people again soon.
