Thais was a birthday present for an extremely bright 7 year old grandson. It really works. Nothing like the one granddad had as a kid. Well built. Good starter equipment with the kit. So far he has had lots of hours with it. Highly recommended.

I bought this for my son's class science themed gift basket fundraiser. It comes with everything you need and is safe for younger science enthusiasts. I even got a note from my son's teacher thanking us for the donation; it's the best one she had seen for the raffle. It was shipped quickly and received in perfect condition. I may order another one for my son since he was anxious to use it himself

Very good gift for a curious child wanting to do experiements . Though I did buy it for a 9 year olds birthdayI would suggest getting a better one for that age group . It is plastic and a good gift

I ordered this because it had great reviews. The problem is.....that it doesn't actually work. I can't see anything through it. I even decided to use a large leaf b/c I thought, surely, that would help. All I can see is that there is a shade of color through the lens, but it's horribly out of focus and no matter what I change on it, it's like looking at something under water. Very frustrating. Makes me feel blind, actually. I'm disappointed b/c this was supposed to be part of our Inquiry Activity on cells, but I can't see the specimen, no matter how hard I try.

After an issue with the first one, the seller voluntarily sent a replacement which is working well. This is a great value, and Excellent customer service.
