The absolute best bread mix for bread machines. I used this mix consistently several years ago, but haven't been able to find it locally. It's a hearty, flavorful and dense bread...tasty, too! Easy to use in a bread machine and stays fresh-ish for a few days, no longer. Am happy to find it here on Amazon.

So hard to find bread mixes for my bread machine. Great brand. Good flavor and texture. Wish there were other variations. Will buy again.

This pack of four mixes is the best value--much more affordable than the single packs. This is a very simple mix to use, needing just water and 3Tbsp of oil beyond the flour mix and the included yeast packet. It works beautifully in the bread machine. I made all four packets. The first two loaves I made, using the White Bread setting (which is what the instructions online said to do), came out with the tops collapsed. Out of curiosity, I tried the Whole Wheat setting, which has a longer kneading cycle, and the next two loaves came out looking like something out of a magazine, with the tops nicely rounded and full. The extra kneading time must develop the gluten just that much more to give it better structure. Your mileage may vary, as they say, but my suggestion would be to hedge your bet and use the Whole Wheat setting if that setting on your machine kneads the bread for a longer time as it does on the Zojirushi.

Wow! Excellent bread from my bread machine. This is by far the best mix I've ever used.

Came out great in my ten year old Oster bread machine. Put in the water and oil, then the flour mix, and finally the included yeast. I was somewhat surprised by the instruction to use the white bread setting rather than whole wheat, but it worked fine. Three hours and twenty-five minutes later, it was done. I removed the pan from the machine, covered it with a clean dish towel, let it rest ten minutes, then removed the loaf from the pan. It cooled for an hour or so, still under the dish towel, before I sliced it. I have two very good bread knives, but I get neater results with my trusty old Black & Decker electric knife, and a plastic slicing guide from Amazon. (My review title says "healthful" because I was taught too many years ago that only a living organism can be healthy.) The texture and taste were as good as I hoped. My wife, who generally prefers white bread, liked it, too. This mix is a bit spendy, but I am happy with it because my own efforts at mixing whole grain flours for bread have produced less than stellar results. One thing I try to remember to write in every review, if I had it to do over again knowing what I know now, would I still buy it? Absolutely!

I use this mix in our bread machine and it is amazing. Very delicious. Very easy to make too. I added a little honey for a touch of sweetness. All the ingredients are included in this mix so it’s add water and oil and off you go!
