They Just Keep Getting Better
I was blown away by Airbags last album All Rights Removed, it was the closest thing to the Pink Floyd Animals/Wish You Were Here era that I have ever heard. But this album even tops All Rights Removed. The songs are so much more complex and intricate then anything they have ever done. They have really grown as musicians and conceptualizing their albums. The most common complaint i have heard of the previous 2 albums was that the songs sometimes didn't bring enough variety and almost started to sound the same. On this album I think Airbag puts those complaints to rest. The sound of the songs are very diverse. One of the reasons for this is that a few of the songs rock pretty hard on this album, something that was missing on the last 2 albums. This allows for more shifts in tempo, and style changes between songs. For example the song "Redemption" rocks pretty hard, and then the song following it "Silence Grows" is mellow and acoustic to begin with. Later in the album the title track "Greatest Show on Earth" is almost an anthem of sorts. However, even though some of the songs get pretty heavy they brilliantly keep that patented airbag sound and manage to lose none of their ambiance. Finally I loved the lyrics on this album, the theme is something that is very relevant to the world today. If you enjoyed the first 2 Airbag albums, do not hesitate to buy this album. Airbag has only improved as a group.

Excellent - my cats even like it
Another fine release by the band.Surveillance Part 3 starts out Porcupine Tree inspired then morphs into Pink Floyd style. They are sounding more and more like Floyd. My only wish is that they would break out of "the usual" and take some chances with their music so that all of their releases don't start sounding all the same. Many of the vocals are delivered identically as so many others on past recordings, kind of a "cookie-cutter" approach. I'd hate to see the band stagnate into a "formula" of style, like some well-known literary authors have. But overall it's a great release.EVERY time that I listen to Airbag (any of the three releases) my cats plant themselves on the flood directly between the speakers (of a high-end audio system). They also do that with The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Riverside, Porcupine Tree, ELO, Alan Parsons, Barclay James Harvest, and a few others.

Almost Floyd?
This recording by Airbag has some beautiful moments and some well written music throughout. What was only slightly a let down for me was the amount of people hailing the band as a new Pink Floyd. What we really have here is a band with its own ideas and sound who happen to have a VERY Gilmour inspired guitar player. So when I finally heard their music to me it was a let down only because regardless of how good they are as a group they are not really Pink Floyd's successor with unique musical ideas and deep lyrical content. To my own ears they are much closer in sound to Porcupine Tree. And not that that is a bad thing either! But I guess I would say be warned. Great quality music that will at times remind you of Floyd? Yes. But whether they are a band destined to take over where the mighty Floyd left off remains to be seen...

WOW! This music is awesome!
If you like Pink Floyd and Porcupine Tree, then you should really appreciate what this band has created with this album. I'm very impressed!

Exceptional Thin Digipack, not much thicker than the cd that came in it.
Disappointing presentation, more the problem of the band than the seller. So skinny you can barely see it in between other cd's. Contacting Airbag direct on their new website tomorrow, if the offer a jewel case version I will be returning this. No problems with the seller themselves though.

This is a band to follow! Prog Rock/Rock at it's finest.
First came across Airbag on an Amazon recomendation. Several reviews indicated Greatest Show on Earth to be their best production so far...I was blown away, not just with the similarity to PF but each cut takes you on a musical mini-journey with segments that change pace and content instantly and leave you satisied at the end of the piece. Will be purchasing more Airbag soon!

Do you love Pink Floyd?...then check out Airbag!
I have all of Airbag's CD's and this one just might be my favorite! The entire band sounds great...especially Bjorn Riis. If you didn't know, you would swear that David Gilmour himself was playing with this band! If you are a Pink Floyd fan, do yourself a favor and grab a copy of their CD's. And don't forget to crank them up really loud!

He delivers through a beautiful tone and soaring harmonies
Airbags 2013 offering. Norwegian Neo-prog rock unit with influences of Porcupine Tree and Pink Floyd. Features Bjorn Riis on guitar, vox, keyboards and bass, Anders Fossum Hovdam on Bass, Asle Tostrup on Vox, keyboards and programming, Henrik Fossum on drums and Jorgen Gruner-Hagen on keyboards and programming. This band have been on the scene for a number of years, coming into the fray with their 2009 release ' Identity '. Since then they have produced three more superb offerings. Bjorn Riis is outstanding on guitar in a very subdued way. He has to be a member of the less is more club. He delivers through a beautiful tone and soaring harmonies. The influences I have mentioned are well present but after a good listen they fade away and the music stands alone. I've had this one on the player since it arrived.

Great music and guiar playing
I have all their Cd's now, This was the first one I bought and unfortunatley lost the disc!!! Bought the download which is great value. All Airbag's music is melodic rock with some fantastic construction to the tracks, the singing a touch off in parts, no doubt due to them being Norwegian. This doesn't detract that every track is of a great quality and the guitar work is absolute tops. Would love to see them in the UK.

Another masterpiece for my collection
A beautifully crafted prog-rock album. So glad to have found this band. Thank goodness for Youtube otherwise one would never know there is still some great music/musicians out there, especially in countries like Norway, Poland to name a couple. Its the kind've album I will never tire of, which says a lot about it. Cheers Airbag! Not sure about the name though ......

Brilliant stuff ..... and now for the back catalogue
Yes, of course there shades of other influences here (Floyd, Porcupine Tree, et al), but everyone is shaped by their own listening history and these guys have put their influences together into a new sound that is becoming their own.I'm a big fan of classic Prog (I was there after all) but this is Great New Prog and I'm delighted to be able to hear and support it.
