I purposely waited a couple of months after buying and using this collar before writing a review so I could be accurate in my assessment. I have a small 15 lb Corgi mix rescue dog who has a mind of his own who would simply ignore me when trying to teach. He would run outside when you opened a door or sometimes while inside, would bark loudly at people passing by outside. Although this collar is slightly large on such a small dog, I have to say it fits although I wouldn't leave it on him for more that a couple of hour or so. NOTE: I have never had to use the shock option of this device. The Vibrate or Buzzer mode gets his attention every time and stops his bad behavior immediately, I recommend you try this first. If you do find it necessary to use the shock, please try a low setting first, start at 5 and go up if needed. I think this is a great tool for dogs that just won't pay attention and mine has held a charge well however I have not used it at distances of over a hundred feet or so so cannot attest to the maximum distance it will work. Read the instructions carefully to get the most out of it. Well worth the money spent. I took off one star because of it's size and weight although I don't think they make one much smaller.

So far so good but I haven't used it a whole lot yet. I purchased for the purpose of calming a young pups constant barking. I have not used the shock as I feel my puppies is far to young for this. The beep has worked very well along with verbal cues. After a few times I no longer had to use the beep and only give the verbal cueing. The unit is a bit big for a small dog of 10 to 20 pounds but would be good for dogs over 20 pounds. The unit charged fast but was a bit tricky setting up at first. The remote is very light and would easily break if dropped but they do give a wrist strap for it. There are two sizes of Prob provided. Right now I'm using the short ones. I don't like that the shock button is so close to the beeper button and wish they had color coded them to make it easier to see but really for the price It's a good unit. If your on the line about getting one I would recommend this unit to see how it will work for your dog before spending a lot of money for units that are basically going to perform the same but just be constructed a bit sturdier

this was great while it lasted. I ordered it in May and here we are in October and the collar no longer powers on. I've done several troubleshooting steps to no avail. I finally contacted the seller explaining the situation and asking for assistance with a warranty exchange and never got a reply. It shows to have a warranty but no clear way of "cashing in" on that warranty if the product just up and dies.

I ended up returning this because it would intermittently work. It worked the first day or two I had it - and then it stopped. Thinking it was a dead battery, I let it charge for a day. And it still didn't work. A few days later I tried it again, and it started working for about 30 minutes - and then it stopped.Not sure what happened.The collar was effective. The beep definitely caught the dogs attention - and the one or two times we shocked it (even at a setting of 5) made him yelp and it caught his attention.

Originally rated five stars. Loved the collar while it worked. It's been a couple months and the receiver no longer turns on. It lights up like it's charging, but doesn't respond and won't pair to the transmitter.

This did not affect my Shiba Inu in the least. Also, the battery life was non existant.

Updated: shock and vibrate no longer works, we rarely used this over the course of 6 weeks and took great care of it.

I love this trainer. It's worked wonders with my huskey!! No more leaving the front yard and all it takes is the beep. It's so easy to use too!! All the buttons are easily accessible unlike other trainers. Make sure you keep it charged up or you won't be able to use anything but the beep...this works for me but not all dogs will respond to just the beep.
