A case of you get what you pay for.
It works but I had to rework the ends to insure the solder joints would not break under stress when the cable had to be folded over on itself to fit my application. The blue wrapping (heat shrink?) does not cover all the contacts completely nor does it offer any stress relief. I cut the heat shrink off and coated the solder joints and back of the connectors with clear epoxy and then applied some 3M wrap to cover the pins and provide stress relief. That was all given a 2nd coat of clear epoxy. Now the bending point is about 1" behind the connector and the solder joints are no longer stressed. My application involved adding a 4 port NIC to a MiniITX case and had to fold the cables in order to work. Yes, I'm looking for a better cable. I had to join two of these to get the length needed.

They're the best in the price category, but...!!
For the price, you won't find any other! They're just the cheapest ones out there!Great, if the cables are once installed, no stress or bending on the cables. No movement once installed. However, under every other circumstance, beware!- The solder joints can be broken very easily (just bend the ribbon cable 90 degrees at the board, and the wires break off).- The blue tape comes off very easily!- it's hard to impossible to bend this cable 90 degrees. Even lateral, the solder joints are just too weak! One positive comment though: It has an open slot, meaning 4x, 8x, and full size 16x cards will fit, without having to solder open the slot end!

Cheaply made.
I ordered 3 of these, one came with the cable on backwards, so it didn't work. Another one broken off the connector when bending it a little, so that one also didn't work. Only 1 out of 3 that I ordered worked, but the one that did work, worked fine. So I guess they get an extra star.

Products Works Well
I was pressed for space with two high end graphics cards, so my internal SATA interface card was blocking the fan on one of the graphics cards. With this extension, I was able to mount the card away from the graphics card so that they could both vent properly.

Appears water damaged
My unit arrived today upon inspection it appears to have water damage or poor solder/flux one of the pins is also pitted. Plugged the card in and the riser as well and nothing on the card even tried another card, that didn't work either think i just have a bad unit. MIght try to flow some new solder and see if that does any better.

This killed an $800 motherboard.
This product killed a motherboard that's going to cost me $800 to replace. I've used similar devices multiple times in the past, but after the PC failed to post with or without this in the slot, I looked at the soldering at the joints to find obvious shorts and what looks like water damage.Avoid TENEXT hardware.
