Walnut Farm Design's Support Spindle Kit includes instructions and 2 oz of hand-dyed fine Polwarth wool. Using a support spindle is a great way to spin while sitting anywhere. It's also great for learning to 'long draw'. I don't recommend a support spindle for an absolute beginner. This is a very sturdy, natural, unfinished wood spindle and bowl. The kit includes: an 11" unfinished wood drop spindle w/ leader string attached, matching wooden spinning bowl, 2 oz of handpainted Polwarth fiber perfect for spinning, and an easy to follow instruction sheet! The directions also include links to youtube video. I include these links because I am a visual learner! I take this very versatile spindle with me whenever I take a trip and it's easily used as a drop spindle as well. -spindle is unfinished wood and can be stained or painted to make it your own! -whorl is 2 1/2" in diameter -shaft is 11" long and has a little notch -100% fine hand-dyed Polwarth wool. I chose fine Polwarth combed top to include in my spindle kits because Polwarth is a fine, soft wool with a longer staple length than merino wool. A longer staple length fiber is easier to learn on and Polwarth makes a nice, strong singles yarn if you choose not to ply it. Comes from a pet-free, smoke free home and made with care to spread the joy and love of spinning your own fiber!

Love the instructions that come with this. Thorough and helpful, clearly written by someone who cares. The product itself also seems good. I haven't the experience to compare it with others, but it is smooth wood and the spindle spins easily in the bowl.
