Attaboy, Sam!

Love this book and all of Lois Lowry's other children's novels! I'd recommend this for strong readers ages 8+ in order to fully understand the cleverly written humor.

We read this to our kids (6 and 4) after our kindergartener's teacher read the class the first book in school and my daughter requested the next one. They both loved it. The individual chapters worked great as bedtime reading, and the overall story was hilarious to them, and I enjoyed it myself actually. It's not always easy to find books to read with kids that, frankly, aren't a little boring. We loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, Abel's Island, and The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe when we read those together, and I was really happy to find this series. Very fun.

I got this book for my kids. I remember reading it when I was little and for a book report I made the perfume. It spilled in my bag on the way to school and it smelled so bad I got sick and had to go home. Was bummed I didn’t get to do my book report. Always love a nostalgic book like that. Can’t go wrong!

We are huge Sam fans around here! Great read aloud to share giggles! This is our favorite of the Sam books, although we love them all.

Great story line for kids. Purchased for use in second grade classroom.

Would recommend reading "All About Sam", the first book in the Sam series first. Attention elementary school teachers; put both on your read-aloud-to-the-class list!
