This filter works great and was easy to install. Yes by a woman!! I have a filter on my water system but sediment still got through to the cold water line of my washing machine. Constantly stopping up the filters in the hose and the back of machine. Now my machine has much better water pressure than ever before.

so I think I’ve had this thing a year now and I’m going to come back and leave a new review. The negative reviews undoubtably come from folks who don’t understand hardware principles and basic plumbing. If you tape the fittings you don’t have to wrench them so tight it causes them to weaken and break like one guy reviewed. Another I read said that the seal didn’t align with the unit? If that’s the case just send it back and get another, there’s no reason it shouldn’t seal, it’s a plastic box with a filter in it. Only reason I’m coming back to this is to figure out what filter I need, the one got so old it made the water smell funny.... after 11 months!

Installation was very simple and it didn't leak. It's bigger than I expected which is a good thing. It just means it'll go longer between filter changes. I bought this because I have well water and sediment often clogs my washer filters which means I have to pull my washer out and clean the filter screens frequently. This is a pain for me because my washer is in a closet and sitting in a drain pan for added leak security. With that said, It seems to be solidly built. I especially like the fact that the hose connections are brass instead of plastic. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the mounting bracket is very thin and flimsy. Hopefully it won't bend out of shape when I need to replace the filter element.

I bought this product in a last ditch effort to keep my washing machine line from clogging up with silt. This machine is at a mountain retreat, so we only get there periodically, and I was getting so tired of continually having to pull the machine away from the wall and clear out the hose because it had a small amount of sandy silt in it from our well. I am pleased to say, I did my first load of cold water wash right after installation, and I couldn't be more satisfied. Looks like I'll be able to use a regular well filter with it, too, which is a big plus. Thanks for the product!

Easy to install (by my wife). Has been on the washing machine water line for 1 month. Works great! Has eliminated problems with sediment damaging water valve on washer. Wonder why it suggested sooner by warranty repairmen that we could "try an inline filter."????? So far, this product has been worth every penny!

Hoping this Hot/Cold set will extend my washing machine lifespan and bring the "white" back to my whites on well water. Decent quality for filter and housing. The mounting bracket is a bit flimsy (does the trick) and Wall anchors are cheap(used spiral screw in ones) to hopefully eliminate pulling off the wall during filter change.

Easy to install and fixed the problems with my washing machine. When I replaced the inlet valve to my washing machine it was so plugged up that the only setting on the machine that worked was the normal setting. With the filter installed all the settings work, in time I’ll install one on the hot water inlet valve. Now the clothes also wash much faster because the water glows in much quicker.

Effective for removing fine sand from water that had been disabling washing machine. Even with fine wire mesh filter at pump, sand had been a chronic problem. No more. Simple installation.
