Good book
Love the book but the quality was quite bad. The book was slightly crumpled, torn and dirty. But overall a great summer read.

Absolutely loved the book

So fun!
I devoured this book! The characters are lovable, some laughable moments, and some seriously swoony heart warming ones to top it off. Let’s not forget the perfectly placed and timed, steamy spice that will have you all melting. Not closed doors, a splash of dirty talk, and not all slow, and gentle if you get my drift.NO dub/non-con, NO OW/OM drama, NO cheating, NO bully romance although this is a grumpy/sunshine trope. He will do anything for her, and is a possessive alpha, broody type but it was written really well and not over done.it is a HEA.Very slight age gap. She’s in her mid to late twenties, he’s 34. You really don’t notice it though.MMC is running from his past but accept this investigative job as a favor for a friend. MFC is on vacation with her brother to be thrown in to the investigation and self discovery of the bravery/confidence she always thought she lacked. The two characters compliment each other and help each other grow for the better. This book was a fun read with intrigue, a bit of mystery, and overall a good heart warming romance with a steamy couple. Only downside, I wish we had gotten more on the investigation and insight on the case. We do get some, but it would of been fun to have more of our MFC doing some snooping.I also would have loved to get more on our MFC. We know she has a distant relationship with her parents and she’s a teacher and a penny pincher, but I would have loved to get more of what she was like at home.Oh, I also really would have loved a longer epilogue and more on where they end up but honestly the ending was still heart warming and I think this tops in my favorite books for now. It was a happy read and a wonderful step back from the darker romances I have been reading.Overall I loved this and it’s worth a read!! I plan on reading more from the author. If you’re interested in the spice, keep readingOur MFC is doing a little self discovery and has been curious as well as learns she likes things on the rougher side and wants to be dominated. Our MMC never displays unhealthy/dangerous or toxic behavior in the bedroom and is aware and listens to our MFC in her needs/wants. All consensual and he grants her this safe space to explore her spicy desires. Our MMC gives her that, and she gives him the emotional/compassion he was missing/needing outside the bedroom and in one steamy scene. The steam didn’t over power our story at all and was well placed, surprisingly even the public scenes. They were not around other people, but things happened in public setting twice. Our MMC throws in a dash of dirty talk in the bedroom as well.We have a little slow burn to start with angst and some I eruption before we get to the full deed. We have a few scenes of spice as well.🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5 on spice scale, open door.

Perfect pallet cleanser!
This was my first Tessa Bailey book and it won't be my last. There was something so very cathartic and cozy about it. We're talking about a book that contains some very adult content (murder, expletives, smut and dirty talk that would make your mother blush) but it still had a fun rom com feel to it.It's got everything a romance reader looking for a pallet cleanser would want. It's short and sexy. Set in a small seaside town. Grumpy vs sunshine. A great balance of mystery and sizzle. Some FIRE smut scenes. A good relationship build and a simple but effective writing style.I'd recommend it to any romance reader who loves their spice but are maybe feeling the strain of too much intensity, darkness or angst.Sometimes after you eat too much salt you start craving something sweet, ya know? This book would be perfect for this. That being said, if you're looking for a storyline with a lot of suspense, a mind blowing whodunit, where the stakes feel high and the danger feels imminent... then My Killer Vacation may not be the place to start. The mystery felt almost Nancy Drew-esque in its execution, very PG and predictable. It wasn't difficult to guess who the murderer was and part of this was because there were hardly any side characters to suspect.I can understand the sacrifice though. It's not a huge book the author has had to choose where to concentrate her focus. I appreciate that a lot of that was dedicated to the spice and relationship building. I would've liked the mystery to have been a bit more meaty as well, but ultimately I'm content with how everything panned out.Taylor and Myles were really great, layered but unproblematic love interests too and their chemistry was instantaneous. I've never gone a whole book without getting a little irritated, at least once, with one of the main characters but that never happened with Taylor and Myles. Not once. Y'all don't even know how miraculous that is.They had their own personal issues and internal and external battles but they handled them like mature adults.Fancy that... Adults in books that can act like adults!Petition for a PSA to be sent to all authors, telling them that they don't have to make their characters perversely shallow, self depreciating and contrary to make their redemptions seem more profound! Also, we (and by we I mean I) love to the moon and back authors like Tessa Bailey who don't hesitate to show their love for MM dynamics, because same sis. Will definitely be checking out some of her other works in the future.

Perfect Summer Read With Romance, Spice & Humor
A summer full of expectations of relaxation, fun, and worry free was all that Taylor imagined for her and her brother, Jude to have, but unfortunately they stumbled upon some… unfortunate soul, that being a dead man in their rented vacation house. Suddenly, Taylor found herself in the middle of a murder investigation, and thought she could put her true crime podcast skills to the test, and alongside bounty Hunter, Myles. Together Taylor and Myles became the unlikely duo working the case and ironically enough worked well together. Mystery, murder, humor, a grumpy bounty hunter, a sweet second grade teacher, and romance along the way couldn’t sound any more fun to me!Even before reading this book, I was immediately intrigued by the plot and was curious to see how the story would unfold. Taylor was definitely the type of character we all can relate to especially with her enthusiasm and belief that she could solve the case. I think it’s safe to say, we’ve all watched our fair share of true crime documentaries, murder mystery shows, CSI, etc. and believed we could easily spot the clues that others might have missed. Taylor was that person indeed that we all wished to and could relate to her on different levels. Myles, on the other hand, was the grumpy, possessive bounty hunter, who has determined to solve the case, and tried to stay away from Taylor and her beauty and cheerful personality. If there’s one thing I love about grumpy characters (among other reasons) is seeing how they become absolutely softies for the sunshine such as, Myles towards Taylor. Myles was immediately attracted to Taylor, but realized very fast that being around her made him feel things he hadn’t felt before, and couldn’t get her out of his mind. Even from Myles picking up on certain changes from Taylor, he would adjust his tone or behavior in order to make Taylor feel better. For a man who seemed serious and to himself, he ended up caring about Taylor’s wellbeing and more. This was a short, sweet, spicy, romance book filled with Tessa Bailey’s humor throughout the story. If you’re looking for a quick read or another book by Tessa Bailey to read, go ahead and check this book out! Once again, with Tessa’s signature humor and lovable characters, you’ll fall in love with everything this book has to offer. While this may be a short book, don’t worry because the romance and spice is excellent! Myles and Taylor’s chemistry was great, and come on, grumpy/ sunshine romance’s are some of my all time favorites! Myles was definitely a possessive man and he made sure to not only comfort Taylor, but also made sure she enjoyed herself to the fullest *wink, wink. Taylor also took Myles by surprise by showing a side of herself that Myles didn’t expect, and was left happily surprised by Taylor’s actions and words. *Hint, if you’ve read carefully, you’ll have caught onto what I was implying haha. For all the romance and of course the murder mystery that Myles and Taylor were trying to solve, Myles also dealt with his fear of getting close to Taylor, and potentially putting her in harms ways. For all the strength and confidence that Myles seemed to portray in himself, he also had a fear of Taylor getting in harms way through their investigation. Poor Myles, he truly did have his own inner demons he was still dealing with, and through his chapters it was evident he didn’t want to repeat past mistakes from his life. Myles was hard on himself, but Taylor wanted to help him not only by lightening the load of the case, but to also help him work through his inner problems.Overall, this was a great, fun story. Taylor and Myles were great and them solving the case together was both amusing and enjoyable. The way the mystery of the case ended up going was pretty good and I wasn’t expecting the level of danger that occurred throughout the story. Taylor was an absolute sweetheart and I adored her personality. Myles was secretly a softie who would do anything for Taylor. The romance and spice was amazing, and of course the epilogue was not only romantic and sweet, but it seemed fitting for Taylor and Myles’s relationship the way their story ended. The perfect summer read, quick to read, and Tessa Bailey once again delivered a feel good story.
