The stock plastic latch on my Hero 3 waterproof case cracked a few months ago. I didn't want to buy a new case, but was about to finally give up and buy one, and then I found this item. It installed in seconds, it's WAY better quality than the OEM latch, and it's definitely a 5-star item.PROS:Easy to install: Just slip out the two thin metal clasps from the existing housing, and reverse the process with the new latch. It takes seconds, not minutes.Easier to use: The metal latch seems easier to flip open than the plastic latch was.Improved durability: As evidenced by it breaking, my broken plastic latch wasn't durable. This metal latch is a huge improvement.Appearance: I think the metal latch looks cooler than the regular flat-black latch.Design: I saw other latches that would have required me to unscrew the clasp. I was concerned that it wouldn't be as good of a fix as this was. While I can't speak for the other latch, I CAN say that this latch was easy to install, and it alleviated my concerns.CONS:None. Except that GoPro should make this the OEM latch.

Very well made and aluminum, the stock plastic lock broke so I replaced it with this. Looks well made and will more than likely outlast the case and possibly out last the camera. If you want no problems with your GoPro set up get these and the aluminum and stainless screws too you will be glad you did. GoPro take note: quit charging a premium for your cheap stuff and build it right the first time. Get this it's well worth your money for no more lost time and equipment.

The product itself looks just fine however it does not actually clip on my gopro3 standard case. I read the reviews and one or two of them said it would. It grabs and pulls the case shut but the only issue is that there is no way for it to click and close. I, unfortunately, need to return it.

Seems to fit the GoPro Hero 4 waterproof case perfectly! (Yes I still use a Hero 4) --- Just like factory fit but better. The set screw inside the billet latch is a great addition for longevity sake. Very secure factory like fitment and I can tell this latch will hold up for much longer than the plastic GoPro one no doubt. (Attached a few images)The color is nicer in person!

If you are not able to find the OEM replacement; this is the second best thing! And actually it is much sturdier. Fits perfectly, works great, and was easy to install.

This is a direct replacement for the Hero3+. It may fit others, but I do not have anything to try it against. Much better quality than the original. My original cracked after years of use, and this was a much better option to keep it going.I would recommend this product.

The snap lock for my Hero+ fell off and I lost it. I was going to replace the entire case, but a GoPro case is about $50. For $10 I was able to get a durable latch that was easy to install and works like the original. The product shipped quickly and was exactly as described.

Replaced the original latch that broke on my Go Pro Hero 4. (With needle nose pliers) This was better than replacing the whole housing from GP or a knock off, IMO. It was on my doorstep the next day, with instructions and it was packaged nicely. $5 would have gotten five stars.
