For those not familiar, they are five-minute, colorful shorts filled with bright animation and simple tuneful songs. They usually educate as well as entertain, and these are no exception. "The Party of Auntie Alice" teaches children how to act at a party, how to greet guests, and how to thank the hostess. "Through the Year with Boris Bear" deals with the changes in the world around Boris Bear as the seasons cycle by, and "Circus" describes the things one might see at the circus. The fourth story, "Snuffy's Puppies," deals with the birth of Snuffy's puppies and the development of the young newborns. It impresses upon young minds that puppies must be treated with care (and that they must be taught to go outside to do their business). This short tale, which manages to introduce the concept of birth without raising the more delicate topic of reproduction, may prompt a question or two in the inquisitive child.
