The Hadley Storage Chest in Black

Was looking for an affordable, stylish, durable box to store toys, ect. This box arrived today. The shipping box was well constructed with all pieces thoroughly wrapped in protection. There were lots of foam inside the box to make sure all pieces remained in perfect condition. It is made of heavy pressed material, not real wood. It looks great! Assembly was not hard. I am fairly tool oriented person, but not an expert at all. The directions were extremely easy to follow, with lots of "tips" and attention to detail. Nothing more frustrating than to put the top on the bottom and not realize it until 15 screws later. Plenty of large, easy to read text to assemble this beauty in about an hour. I was watching a movie, so not in a hurry. You could use two people for the lid attachment. (the hinges), It notes this in the directions, so that was a little struggle. Put the hinges on the lid first and then set the right angler flange onto the box last. That helped a lot. Some little specks of imperfections, dotted with a black permanent marker. It will be for toys to de-clutter the house, so it will get more nicks/chips soon! it is made in China, but I order this type of self assemble furniture over and over again. Most are made overseas. This piece is definitely on of the nicest. You wont be sorry you bought it. ps The hinge is VERY NICE. It keeps the lid open safely and functions well. Easy open, easy close with little effort. Opens the lid about 85% of the way.

This piece looks great in our house. That said the hinges pulled off the back of the unit. The only thing holding the lid on was the spring mechanism. Our small two year old was just opening and closing it. Maybe we just got a lemon.

Perfect size, walls are a little on the thin side but seems sturdy.

Came as an animal chest. I thought it was a toy box. That’s what I used it for and honestly it’s probably better used as a toy box. It’s deep set and very sturdy.

It looks very nice, but fell apart a couple of weeks after purchasing.

This is not an actual toy chest when I received it. This box was for an animal and instructions did not make any sense.
