Melt & Pour Soapmaking

I received my book yesterday, I love it already and I haven’t even made anything yet. Easy recipes, full color pictures. I can’t wait to get busy.

This was my first venture into the art of soapmaking and I could not have had a better mentor than Marie Browning. Filled with lavish photographs and detailed information, MELT & POUR SOAPMAKING is my top pick for anyone who is interested in exploring this craft. There are many varied recipes featured throughout the book, beautiful photographs highlighting step-by-step what to do, and detailed information that adds more pleasure to an already fun experience. I was successful with every project I attempted (which is very rare indeed) and also utilized the author's suggestions on packaging my creations for gift giving. Nice information, helpful. Used a couple recipes and they turned out well.

I really love the delivery service however when the product is opened there are never any instructions in the box to use the product.

I own probably 20 soap making books, but I don't think any of them has inspired me more than this one. Beautifully illustrated. Nothing is more frustrating than soap books full of recipes with nothing to show you what your finished product is supposed to look like. Thank-you Marie for writing such a comprehensive, easy to follow book on soap making.

This book has lots of beautiful projects and includes information on m&p, hand-milling and other bath products. The photographs are beautiful. However, the recipes are expensive to make because of the variety of fragrances, molds, and ingredients. Also, there isn't much information on where to buy the ingredients, or how to determine the quality of the ingredients. Great for ideas, but not practical.

After reading some other soap making books, I became rather discouraged (who wants to deal with lye and such) -- then I stumbled upon this book and purchased it immediately. It wasn't long before I was down at my local crafts store, purchasing all the equipment needed, and making my own soaps. That led to a class on essential oils, more soap, lotions ... and a whole new hobby. If you've ever wanted to try making soap yourself, grab this book and have fun.

I haven't actually tried making any of the soaps or other bath products yet but the recipes look fairly easy to follow and I'm looking forward to trying them. I'm new to soapmaking and I wanted a book to get a basic idea of the ingredients and how to mix them together. in addition to the soap, bubble bath, bath salts, and massage oil recipes this book gives tips and information about materials and additives.The pictures are a good inspiration for packaging ideas too.

Love love love this book. Had great ideas and recipes for melt and pour soap. Anyone new to melt and pour soap making should have this book.
