COLIBYOU Salt and Pepper Grinder

I bought this on a lark, to replace our decades-old table pepper grinder. It was so inexpensive I didn’t expect much, but I felt that if it didn’t have the necessary quality or whatnot to use on the table I might instead use it as a travel spice grinder.It’s a bit too large to pack up on the motorcycle or hike with, but nicely sized for the dining room table. While the construction is primarily plastic it has a nice heft to it and the visible metallic portions are real aluminum plate, not paint. It feels nice to use.The grinder works well and is easily adjusted for grind size, independently on each side. I set up a fine grind for salt and a courser grind for pepper, as is my preference. Perfect for function IMO.The end caps keep the table from becoming littered with debris, something my traditional wood decades-old table pepper grinder did not.Functional, looks and feels nice, and at an extremely nice price. Recommended.

Grinder works fine. I don't like the design for the end covers. A few time part of the silver body cover has slid out of place and needs to be moved so the end covers can stay in place.***Update***After submitting my review the company contacted me and offered to replace or some refund my item. I was impressed with their customer service. My spouse opted for a replacement (I wanted the refund). The second grinder looks great, but the clear cannister portion was not properly glued it. I’ll fix it and use it as part of a gift for someone else. Great customer service, but not a great product. It’s okay and I will use it until it breaks, or I feel frustrated enough to purchase something else.

I love it for the most part. Does exactly what I wanted it to do. I will be honest that the caps were a bit useless, I lost them pretty quick. My issues is I can't refill one of the sides after only filling it once. It's like the threads are now bare and i can't open it. It's been so long and is such a small thing that I'll probably just research and buy something else. Was kind of bummed, but everything else is great.

Initially got this pepper grinder as a present but still didn't give it away, because it matches nicely with a salt and pepper grinding set I already have, and I'm contemplating to use it as an addition to that set. I like the idea that it offers 2 compartments for 2 types of spice in 1 grinder (space saver on the table), so I already have pepper and Himalayan pink salt in 2 separate grinders, and this one I'm intending to use for black (Kala Namak) and red Hawaiian salt. They are all the about the same height and the same stainless steel and glass combination, so together it looks like a "higher end" grinding mill set!Grinds finely, so ground salt crystals are smaller than the table salt crystals.

The idea is pretty good. The execution is okay. The durability is not good. Tonight, the pepper side broke while using it... after less than 2 years since I bought it. I would not buy it again.I wanted a combo salt and pepper grinder for our dining table, as a convenient combo. But the top/bottom style is a little cumbersome since you have to snap on and off the lid of each side, and flip it around in your hands to get both salt and pepper. The ergonomics are not great, and feels a little awkward as you use it, since you can't hold the top like a normal grinder. And the plastic and metallic parts were a little off-angle, which makes it not as sleek looking as intended

This grinder broke after a year. The screw inside that allows for changing the coarseness of the grind broke clean off when I tried to twist it. So basically, the first time you need to refill your salt/ pepper chamber, you might find you need to get a new grinder.

The salt grinder is wonderful, but the pepper grinder doesn't seem to "grab" the peppercorns enough to grind them well, even with adjusting the grind diameter. It's attractive and seems well-made.

Overall a great compact double grinder set-up. A little les sturdy than my last one, but guess that saves on the weight. I recommend.
