This gorgeous Black Walnut cutting board is made with thin strips of Hard Maple throughout creating an incredibly eye-catching pattern. This cutting board will leave your guests scratching their heads as to how it was created! Because of the unusual beauty of this board a lot of my customers are hesitant to actually use it for cutting. I tell everyone the same thing: cut on one side of it and display the other side when it is not in use! The hole is designed so you can hang the cutting board on the wall with the unused side facing outward. If you still don't want to cut on this piece of art you can use it as a serving platter or cheese board instead! The cutting board measures approximately 12 inches in diameter and 3/4 inch thick and is sanded smooth and coated in mineral oil. Hand wash only! Apply mineral oil occasionally to stop the board from drying out.

This is as pretty as it's picture!
I ordered this to go in a housewarming "kitchen stuff" basket that I am putting together for our son and daughter-in-law and it is as nice as I hoped. It is a perfect size to use for crackers and a small cheese, h'ordouveres, or for an artisan loaf and elegant enough to use for a special party. The board seems very solid, and the color and decoration are lovely. I oiled it with cutting board oil and the grain is beautiful, it could definitely be used as a wall decoration. I'm ordering a second one for me, and will plan will keep it in mind when I need another special gift.
