Great concept but needs work!!!
When I bought this item I was ecstatic, a solution to one USB port. I bought 2 for my wife and I. I use my tablet a lot more than her so I knew I would find the bugs if any.On the first day I worked perfectly. The next day is when I started to have issues. I had my iPhone and a CAC reader connected. I was tethering internet from my phone to the tablet. After about 30 mins the phone would disconnect and reconnect off and on. I figured it was the cable (which was brand new) so I switched it out with a new cable. Still the same thing. Now I knew it was not the cable. I then figured tethering is not was the ports are for (trying to give this the benefit of the doubt so I tethered by WiFi and connected my external HDD. Now I have and HDD and CAC reader connected using WiFi. Still the same thing, devices were disconnecting on there own. At this point I knew what the issue was but figured it was a just a bad one in the bunch. I went home and the next day I took my wife’s to work work with me (it was still in the box). It did the same thing. Worked fine for a couple of days then started having issues. At this point with me being in the IT field most my life I knew these items were having a cooling issue. I’m thinking the processor is not being cooled enough which is causing the product to reboot/restart itself. Never tried it with just one item plugged in because that is not what I bought it for.Overall it is a great concept and design. They need to work out the cooling issue. I would buy another one if they upgraded the design but as it stands now you will waist your time and money buying this item.I have Prime so it was an easy return for me.

Great, could be better built for the price, but don't use a case for your Surface.
Shaved off a star for build quality... For $35, it's build quality is lacking. Thin plastic, flexes easily under weight. Probably will break if put under stress. It does work as described. The USB Micro supplies the extra power, and does accept heavy power devices as well as lightweight USB flash drives.Other consideration, which isn't the fault of the adapter: if you have a case for your Surface Pro that lines the left and right sides of the device, this will not work. Any separation from the USB port will cause it to not connect: it's a USB 3.0 port. If you look inside the A Plug of the device you'll see there's not four copper contacts, but more inside in the back of the plug. An incomplete connection shorts the front and back pins together, making the Hub not work. A possible workaround would be a short three inch USB 3.0 A to A extension, but this would defeat the point of the fitted hub design.Something to keep in mind before buying.

Without the cover it works and like it though the connection is a little loose
The product is well made HOWEVER most owners of Surface 3 or 4 have a cover. Therefore the male USB does not penetrate for solid connection..... Ethernet was not active until I manually push it in and hold !!!!Without the cover it works and like it though the connection is a little loose.I had to modify my cover ( cut pieces off) for the unit to work... and that’s a pity cause someone should have figured out the Surface cover would pose a problem. Most who own a Surface 3 or 4, mine being Pro 4 with keyboard & cover have covers. This is my 2nd unit, first one once plugged the sound was gone.... need to listen using head phones OR external speakers!!!!Good unit though from ICZI, now it’s put aside cause of sound issues, nobody tested it!!Am looking at description on Amazon and no where it mentions about sound issues!! Did contact manufacture... no help, have to use head phones or connect external speakers.....

Eh... Usable but not perfect.
It works but not as well as I expected. It seems to be finicky.I bought it because the wifi signal is practically nonexistent at my desk at work and I wanted to use my surface pro for multitasking. If I even barely nudge the Ethernet cable while it's plugged in it will either show that I'm not connected to a network or that I am but there is no internet on that network. It will work again after I unplug and plug it back in. It also pops up with an error saying that it doesn't recognize the device when I plug it in. Both USB ports seem to work but not for a heavy load (which was another reason that I purchased this). I wanted to have my 3TB external plugged in and back up my iPhone at the same time instead of wasting all of my valuable internal SSD space. This doesn't work with this device. (Yes my external HDD uses it's own power source.) It is usable for an external hardline connection even though it is touchy. It's not a total waste but doesn't quite meet my expectations.

OK so i recevied the item on time and intact with a good packaging, has micro usb cable for power hungry devices like HDD, you need to plug it to a power source, note that you do not need it when you plug in any 2x USB 3.0 device on it as it can be powered bu the SP4. This thing rocks as i waited for this one long time!!! why it took so long for you guys to make 1? anyways thanks! it really works! also forgot to say that it has microSD card slot! so yeah another storage extra if you always use your SP4 as a desktop type when at home, i have not tested it for speed and max capacity.. will update my review once i test it. Forgot to mention that this fits well on the usb slot and does not fall off or get loose, this does not block the standard charger cable, NOTE this does not fit on the UAG case ok? maybe yes if you modify it or cut it a little bit Overall this is the best accessory for your SP4! go buy it! its a quality one! wishing they released this earlier before. Good Stuff!

Good quality
It is a good product and gets the job done. However keep in mind that if you have a case on your SP 4 then it is not going to work. You won't be able to insert it in the port completely.

I'd figured this would fit snuggly with my Surface Pro 4, but it's a bit loose. So every time I need to eject a USB device, I have to make sure that I hold down the Adapter before disconnecting the USB device that is attached to it.

Works as advertised. Only wish there was a way to secure it better so I can unplug one of the two devices without impacting the other.
