Granite Ware – 19-Inch Covered Oval Roaster - Speckled Black

I have a solar oven, and while I enjoy using it, it does take a little planning. When cooking with a sun oven, two main things matter: the size of the pot and the material and color of the cookware. This covered roaster checks both of those boxes. The size is spot on it fits in my oven like it was made for it. The dark enamel finish is also ideal. Black enamelware (Graniteware) absorbs sunlight and converts it to heat much better than shiny pans, which tend to reflect light and reduce efficiency. Glass will work, but in my experience it heats up a bit slower. I’ve always liked enamelware in general. It’s lightweight, durable, easy to clean, and holds up well over time. I’ve had this pan for almost two years now with zero issues. Pros: · Perfect size for a solar oven · Excellent heat absorption (black enamel) · Lightweight and easy to clean · Durable Cons: · None so far Bottom line: This has been a great pan and works exactly as expected. I would repurchase and would recommend.

We needed a second small roaster and I was concerned about the present quality of products available. I am very pleased with this roaster, nice weight and the granite finish looks good.

This is a good roaster so far. It became the size I wanted, its smaller than the other one I have that I roast a whole chicken in, I was going to replace it with this, but its not the correct dimension (its 10inches wide, 14 inches long and almost 4 inches deep) but this is great for pot roast and probably chicken thighs. (made pot roast) easy clean up.

I had a much larger one,which I just gave away, I rarely entertain these days but wanted a roaster for a small roast and some veggies. I looked at dozens on Amazon & appreciated the reviews. What I kept looking for a quality roasting pan with a lid that fit, just the right size for two people. If cooking for four, put the meat in here, and the veggies in another dish. You don’t want the cover on a roast the entire time, or it will fall apart. This pan is adorable, and I fell in love the moment I opened its well-packed box. It arrived quickly. Can’t wait to use it. By the way, the label soaked right off, peeled off whole. And the pan is round.

Love this item I’m using for sourdough and it was amazing the oven spring I got verses open bake a must buy! Now I’m using it for baking dinners and more! I love it lightweight and made well! I’m going to buy 5 more so I can do 6 loaves of sourdough at once in my oven just the perfect size!

Lovely roaster although I haven’t use it for roasting anything but baking my sourdough! I love it so much because I’ve been trying the open baking method and with fresh milled flour is hard to get a good tall loaf but with this it came out so perfect. The loaf on the pictures is a 50% fresh milled flour (200gr hard red wheat and 50g einkorn) with the other 50% organic AP from Costco. Best loaf ever. This bread weighed 866gr just in case anyone is curious and the recipe was 250 FMF, 250 AP, 10 salt and 350 water I preheated and baked it at 480 x 20min closed and then open at 440F x 15min in the middle rack of my oven

Pot Continues to arrive with chips, enamel missing. I have the same small Dutch oven that is five years old and it is still going strong without any chips, dents scratches, missing enamelware. I decided to buy another one as a back up because I found it to be such a great product. This is my third return because this pot continues to arrive with chips, enamelware missing, defective showing metal undercarriage. they also use a super heavy tape to tape the lid and pot together which can also result in pulling off enamel. I just don’t see where their quality control is coming from or obviously it looks like they don’t have any quality control . The company keeps sending out damaged products. I will wait and try to re-purchase later and if it arrives without any defects, I will be happy to change my rating to five stars. It’s a great product if it arrives in excellent working condition. Waiting…

I bought this because I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something I use twice a year. I cook vegan roasts in it and it does an amazing job. The heat is evenly dispersed and the roast is nice and juicy. It’s so easy to clean too. I love the small size of it, just enough room for the roast and a few vegetables.
