I’m a yard person and will say this really works. Doesnt yellow the grass. Worked in a week. I believe in this product. Nut sedge is hard to get rid of and I try to stay on top of it as it appears. Give it a try!

Easy to use - I mix a packet of powder in a milk gallon jug and pour part of the liquid into a spray bottle and store the rest. Each packet makes a gallon. Unlike Ortho Nutsedge Killer, it takes several weeks before the nutsedge actually turns brown and dies, but more importantly the nutsedge won't spread; Ortho kills the nutsedge in 2 or 3 days. Atticus Empero uses a different pesticide - halosulfuron (the same as used in Sedgehammer) - vs sulfentrazone used in Ortho. Both are effective but Ortho costs more. Update: This season I made the mistake of overwatering my lawn and the nutsedge came back. I now just pour the solution from my milk bottle directly on where I see the nutsedge. They turn brown in a few days, much quicker than by spraying. For a large area, I just douse the whole area. This doesn't harm the grass and keeps them from spreading. This method is not too costly and is effective. Also: Mature nutsedge takes longer to die; be patient. Update 2: I have discovered an effective method to rid all nutsedge: Instead of pouring the aforementioned solution onto the nutsedge and waiting for it to die, I dig out the nutsedge and then pour the solution down the hole where the nutsedge was. That way: 1)The nutsedge is gone; 2)The solution will reach the underground sedge and kill it for good; any new growth will be immediately noticed. Update 3: If an area has too many nutsedge to have to dig them all out one by one, dig your weeding tool into the soil where there are many and pour some weed killer directly down the hole where your weeding tool is still dug into, using the tool as a guide for the weed killer solution to reach deep down into the soil where the underground network is. Once the weed killer is absorbed, the above ground weeds will turn yellow and die.

Update: almost 3 weeks now, all the treated nutsedge has disappeared. I have tried everything else to get rid of nutsedge to no avail until now — I think this product works but takes time. It has been a week since I applied it. It did nothing to the nutsedge patches — if fact they look healthier and growing taller now. Moreover, the dosage is too small and expensive to keep applying when you see no results.

This powder dissolves quickly in water. I purchased a one gallon spray bottle with small hose attachment sprayer. This chemical is highly toxic if touches skin, so I wore gloves to open pack. Easy understanding instructions. Been 3 weeks and the nutsedge grass is turning yellow, dying. The area continues to receive water. Recommend to re-spray 6-8 weeks.

I used this product on nutsedge in my lawn and garden beds. I have used the more expensive competitor’s product in the past, with success. I wanted to try a more affordable option this time, so I bought this product. I followed the manufacturer instructions, and even applied twice, about a week apart. This made ZERO impact on the nutsedge. Disappointing and a waste of money. Going back to the more expensive competitor I guess..

Worked just like they said it would! Live in SOCAL with weed free Marathon grass always use Commercial grade Pre-Imegent 3 times a year Surge Nutgrass weed wasn't Effected by it. My first time using Emmpero Q pack put the Nutgrass to a quick death to the root without hurting my Marathon grass. Highly Recommend

Great product! This is not like Round-up where you see immediate results. Apply the product then wait 2 weeks. Reapply another round then 2 weeks later and the weeds will all be yellow and dead.

I have some kind of sedge all over my yard. Thicker in some areas over others but definitely spreading everywhere. Seems to love warm weather and tolerates drought very well. Our weather has been more warm than cold this year and because of this weeds and sedge got early start. But so did I. I sprayed this stuff about a month ago when I first saw them coming up. It did seem to kill them but apparently it doesn't kill or stop others from coming up. And I think you can only apply this 2x a year. I'm still facing several months of these things still coming up so this really seems like a season long effort, but I only can put down one more application. This stuff grows so well, so much better than grass, so heat, drought, disease and bug tolerant, maybe I should just use it for my lawn!
