I was skeptical about buying a heat shield for a floating hand guard from Amazon, but surprisingly, it worked well. I shot 200 rounds at the range and no burns. It got mildly warm after the first hundred rounds but stayed at a consistent, comfortable temperature throughout. The attachment rings are metal and do get hot, but were not an issue. I purchased the 6x6 for an M-lok rail, and the fit was perfect and secure. I bought a second one for a family member. I would recommend this product. It's a great alternative to wearing gloves.

It dissipates heat pretty well. I was able to fire 300 more rounds than usual before it was too hot to handle

I bought this to put on a particular firearm instead of using rail covers. It installs with no problems, since it wraps on. It is comfortable to grip and you can use it another if you take it off and install it again. Best to buy an extra one or one for each firearm.

Very durable and heat resistant. And it is pretty soft so if you have somebody who doesn’t like the feel of a Picatinny rail then this might be for you. My heat guard is fairly thin and if you’re not paying attention, your skin can go through the mlock hole And touch the gas block. Not fun. But this has got rid of that problem 👍🏻

Good wrap, doesnt look the best but it works

The overall fit on a RIA VR80 Handguard is almost perfect except the Velcro straps are too long from the manufacturer you’ll have about 1/4” of Velcro grabbing. If you or someone in your family can sew it took me 15 minutes to pull apart the straps and shorten them. This is a good solution since the gas piston is right where your hand goes on the VR80.
