Works perfectly -- no more mosquitos
Have used these with great success in a catch basin that always has about 1-1/2" of standing water in it. I suspend the dunk with a piece of twine from the grate that covers the catch basin so that it sits in the water. After the first use, the mosquitoes in that area of the garden were gone! Have to replace every month, or more often if there's a heavy, heavy rain (we're talking 3-4 inches). I like that it's safe to use.

Crazy little things that work...
So these are two inch round donuts that look and feel like they are made out of sawdust. I saw online somewhere to put them in buckets full of stagnant water to eliminate mosquitoes. As they dissolve, I believe they release an enzyme that attacks the larvae that hatch from the eggs that female mosquitoes unwittingly lay in your buckets. Ultimately they are for use in larger stagnant ponds and large swampy areas, but I break one up and place in several various coffee cans that I have painted woodland colors and placed around the house and property. It takes about ten days for the mosquitoes to fall for the coffee cans, lay their eggs, and everyone to die off, but once the process starts, the mosquito population (and seems like a few other flying pests too) legitimately drops away to almost nothing. Best $25 I've spent all summer and I think I've only used three of them. One dunk covers like 100 sq. ft., so the top of a coffee can is about one sq. ft., so one dunk goes a long way. I put some more in the cans about every two weeks.*Pro Tip- Create some kind of small roof for you cans or buckets so when you have a heavy rain, they don't overflow washing all your stagnant water and dunks away. They work great for this, can't say enough about them. Safe for animals too.

Yep, IT. WORKS.
I was suggested these by an article on the Art of Manliness.I have a couple of buckets with water in them around my garage, and they have eliminated the mosquitos around my garage.Which is great because I couldn't stand being in my garage in summer because of the mosquitos pestering me.NO. MOSQUITOS. THUS. FAR............and it's about Mid-June.Respect for these little rings!

Bought it on sale at a good price. Has instructions!
Works well to decrease the mosquito population around here (subtropic zone!).Also has instructions on back, where you actually can use a lot less of the product in buckets, each wafer is actually intended to treat a *large* volume of water. You can also tie a string to it to keep it from floating away! Wow, I'm impressed with the design. Seriously.

Try them, you won't regret it!
I'm surprised there are no other reviews for this product. Oh well, I'll be first!I live in GA and in the summers mosquitos can be bad. I get bit all the time. For the previous 2 years I've hired "mosquito services" to come spray the yard. It helped, but I'd call them to come out between scheduled visits because me and my two sons would still get bit. This year I saw the dunks and liked the idea of killing the source (larvae) instead of the ready-to-drink-blood mosquito. Plus, I don't like chemicals !! (that is, the spraying of the yard, etc)April of this year I was ticked off when I got bit by 2-3 mosquitos and it wasn't even mosquito season yet! I bought the dunks and put them in several places in the backyard. It is now almost July, 90 degree weather, humid, and I haven't been bitten in a couple weeks!!!Awesome product and MUCH less expensive than just ONE application from the Mosquito Spray company.

The Dunks Did It!
Mosquitos and gnats were overwhelming around the pond and had even ventured out into the yard. In a short time after I had placed the Dunks in strategic hot spots, the ravenous pests seem to have disappeared. What a wonderful product!

Yearly purchase
Great product especially around ponds and water features.

May work, but not appealing looking!
OK.....these do work, however they look gross when they get wet.(Imagine dark brown donut floating around in clear water- imagine the pool scenein Caddyshack and you'll get the picture). Not appealing whatsoever. Also, I had to cut them down, because of the amount of water I was using,it was a mess. These might work in a large Koi pond or something, whereyou do not need to cut, but not to good for smaller bird baths.
