It's padded, too, which will prevent scratching your instrument. I use this for my ukulele.

Bought this cute tuner for my son to use with his ukulele. It worked well until the battery died. I bought more batteries and changed the battery. The tuner no longer works. Screen won't come on when I press the power button. I took the "new" battery out and tested it in another ukulele tuner, and it worked, so I know it's not the battery. Maybe I got a dud, but I'm disappointed that it didn't last any longer than the life of one battery.

So this is an adorable design, and the owl rotates all sorts of ways to make it more useful. It takes a coin battery, which just doesn't stay in place well enough. You twist the back to lock it in, but when I move the owl around or even OPEN the clamps to place it on something, when its on the instrument the screen goes black. I can tell it is from the contacts not touching the battery as its finicky and I can get it to work depending on what I do with it, but it basically makes it useless. It needs the vibration of the violin and I'm left trying to put it on a peg which is a bad idea to begin with but anything that makes it open winder somehow makes the battery not touch what its supposed to touch. It's really sad such an adorable looking item with nice rotation works so ill.

We were excited to give this to our daughter for Christmas, but within a month it was broken and basically she was only able to use it one time. Super sad because we thought it was so cute.
