The Scandinavian Home: Interiors inspired by light

Good purchase!

The book is great! However I think this will be the last coffee table book I’ll buy from amazon. It is put in a box without any protection so it slides around in shipment and the corners are damaged when you get it. It’s has happened a few times now and would rather pay a bit more and get a book in good condition elsewhere. Regular books it’s fine but kills the vibe of having a coffee table book!

This author also writes for Scandi At Home magazine. My favorite! If you’re into Scandinavian design you will love this book.

I love Scandinavian design and this book delivers some of the best examples. I'm glad I purchased this book. I got so many ideas from it which is why I bought it.

I always feel bad when I leave a less than stellar review- but, I had such high hopes for this book and am very disappointed. I’m half Scandinavia and love decorating with a mix of American and Scandinavian- with shades of whites and tans. In the past I purchased the books Simply Scandinavian and Living With Light- and like them so much better. This book is filled with modern, eclectic interiors that are full of a hodge podge of furnishings and decor. I saw very little by way of Scandinavian themed decor. And some of the rooms give whole new meaning to “minimalist.” I found most of them to be cold and unwelcoming- almost depressing. Returning is such a pain so I’ll keep this book by won’t crack it open again I’m sure.

If you love beautiful Scandinavian decor, you’ll love this book! It’s timeless!

This book shows photos of 10 Scandinavian homes. I found it dreary and not very inspirational. The homes have very similar interiors with a mishmash of furniture and artwork, and everything on display.The layout of the book itself is irritating in that there are double page spreads with the description sometimes appearing on the page before and sometimes after.I bought Remodelista at the same time, and much prefer that even though it is mostly focused on American houses.

I enjoyed this book. I love light so was very interested in the format. Lots of nice pics and details and a book I will dip in and out of. I really like Niki Brantmarks My Scandanavian Home blog ,so this was sure to be a winner. I love Lagom and the Pastoral one too.

Wanted to investigate Scandinavian home styles more and saw this book recommended on a blog. Took less than five minutes to scan through and found nothing to help or inspire. I've found more inspiration in general home style magazines and blogs. Disappointing.

Bought as a gift for someone who is an interior designer, and they really enjoyed looking through it, and getting some ideas for future use.
