Vanicream Dandruff Shampoo, Mild Formula for Sensitive Scalps, 8 Fl Oz

This is a 2% zinc pyrithione dandruff shampoo. It's far from the only one out there, but it's the other 98% that makes this the best I've ever used in over 60 years! The other 98% is a creamy lotion that doesn't sting your eyes or irritate sensitive areas. It is basically odorless, which is how I like it. It is effective everywhere you have seborrheic dermatitis and it's a pleasure to use. No useless tingly-stuff to make you think it's working – it just works. It rinses off cleanly and easily, which means you get to choose your favorite conditioner if you use one of those. They seem to have problems procuring some of the ingredients in a timely manner, so the stores will run out of it from time to time. My suggestion is to buy a year's supply and then reorder one bottle as you use it on subscribe and save. Otherwise it would be wise to have a backup favorite.

I’ve used Head and Shoulders since I was 13 yrs old. (56yrs) I had a problem with dandruff, itching and sores on my scalp and it cleared it right up. Over the years I would periodically try other dandruff shampoos because I didn’t like the film Head and Shoulders left on my hair making it limp and greasy and now it is not working effectively. Within shampooing 3-4 times with these other shampoos the dandruff and itching returns, including Head and Shoulders natural. I had tried some other Vanicream products and loved them, then noticed they offered an unscented dandruff shampoo. I’ve waited so as to get several washings in to make sure it effective. I love it! My hair looks and feels clean and natural with more body and my scalp has never felt so clean. No dry skin or itching between shampooing. I wash it less and have less hair loss. (Coincidence?)

My son has had eczema since he was an infant, including his scalp, always having itchy and dry skin. He has used a prescription steroid ointment since a toddler, but not only can you not use it more than 2 weeks at a time, but it’s also difficult to apply on the scalp if you have longer hair. Being a teenager he is very sensitive to his looks and having extreme dandruff from his scalp eczema definitely affected his self esteem. We have tried tea tree shampoo, Nizoral, Selsun Blue,Head and Shoulders and even tar shampoo, but nothing we bought over the counter worked. I figured I had nothing to lose when trying this Vanicream shampoo. After 2 weeks my son has already noticed a difference. Now he finally has relief from the itchiness, no flakes and is more confident. I’d definitely recommend you give this a try! He also uses the Vanicream body wash and body cream on a regular basis as well. We are so thankful for this product! After 13 years he no longer uses unhealthy steroid prescriptions! It got rid of my scalp psoriasis within maybe 3 washes. BUT it makes my hair *extremely* dry, truly like straw, and it strips the color out faster than any other shampoo I've used. Plus the bottle is tiny. I managed to make it last aomg time by alternating this and a regular shampoo. If I use the regular one too long the psoriasis and flaking does come back so this shampoo definitely works. It also doesn't aggravate my hand psoriasis or cause any contact dermatitis (regular shampoo does). I previously used the normal vanicream shampoo and conditioner bundle. This shampoo is a better fit for me and the vc conditioner doesn't really work, especially for curly hair. If nothing else has worked for you, give this a try. If you have other options, I wouldn't use this.

BEST DANDRUFF SHAMPOO I'VE EVER USED IN MY LIFE. I've had a significant dandruff problem my entire adult life. I've used many dandruff shampoos through the years with varying results, and some of them even worked temporarily but then it came back after a while. And then I found this stuff. Took 2 or 3 weeks to slowly overcome my problem, but then my dandruff has been gone 100% ever since! I will say that last year, I accidentally bought a similar-looking bottle of shampoo (for sensitive skin) from this same company by mistake, and after a few weeks, my dandruff came back, I didn't even realize my mistake at first. Nothing against the company; it just wasn't the right product for me personally! I then got the dandruff shampoo again, and I was cured again in a couple weeks! AMAZING STUFF! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Been using this for years. Dr recommended 2% zinc for me and no more itch. This works!

This is one of the best anti dandruff products I ever used. Very light smell and mild irritation to the scalp. Worked perfectly after the third time. Highly recommended
