Found my Gameboy Advance SP stored in the attic and after pulling dusting off the cobwebs, found the original battery no longer held any charge. Hoping to restore functionality without high cost, I purchased this replacement battery. Installation was simple - one screw to access the compartment, swap the old for the new battery, replace cover. No soldering or hardware modifications needed. After charging overnight, I was pleased to power on the SP to find it running like new. The battery icon showed full charge. I spent several hours playing Pokemon FireRed and it maintained charge well. Here are the pros and cons after a few weeks of use: Pros: - Low cost way to revive an SP with dead battery - Easy, drop-in installation - Comes with all tools needed for replacement. - Holds a charge comparable to original Nintendo battery - Allowed me to restart playing a beloved childhood game system Cons: - Can't verify actual mAh or overall lifespan yet so who knows how long these will last. Overall, I'm thrilled to have my Game Boy SP back in action for under $10. It was an affordable fix that delivered good enough functionality. Worked as expected. Fit perfectly into the battery compartment of the GBA SP. (clamshell). No issues with charging or using the battery. On a good session, I’m pushing 4-5 hrs of gameplay recharging at 5% when I do. No overheating - at least yet. No swelling of the battery.

I was really worried when my childhood Gameboy Advance SP wasn't turning on... I hadn't used it in like ten years and was looking to sell it... fortunately this little battery swap did the trick... I was worried that it would be complicated as everything is today... I just swapped a MacBook Pro battery out and it was a nightmare... but I nearly forgot that modern devices are made to not be fixed while older devices aren't held in by adhesive that you have to pry out with a plastic crowbar. This battery comes with the screwdriver you need you unscrew take out the battery put the new one in and that's it... it powered on immediately even without charging it first.

These are a good replacement for the SP battery. I felt like the ones in my SPs were not lasting as long, and one may actually may be bad. It was almost immediately turning the light red as if it was dying after charging overnight. These batteries solved that problem. I bought these as they aren’t expensive and it wouldn’t hurt to try them. They seem to work just fine. The SP battery is an easily user swapped part as the door compartment is just one screw on the bottom. Take the old battery out, put the new battery in, close the compartment door and that’s it you’re done. I charged it up and both SPs seem to work just fine. I have actually forgotten I have swapped the batteries out for these until I saw this review request so I’m going to say they work as advertised. 😅 I kept my original batteries just in case but I don’t feel the need to have to put them back in.

It lasts about 7 hours in an AGS101 with a flash cart. Incredible. Fitment was perfect. Eat to install.

Works well. The battery in my old Gameboy Advance SP swelled up and this one has served as a perfect replacement. Easy to install.

On gameboy sp you can get 7 hrs before red light to charge. Then like an hour more with the red. Good purchase. Easy installation and Transfer. I recommend.
