Absolutely riveting!
This is my first book by Caitlin Rother, and it will not be my last. I literally could not stop reading it. It is an engrossing, well-written and an detailed account of the murder of Bill McLaughlin (RIP). What a great way to shelter in place. Thank you, Caitlin!

Promise broken
I made a promise to myself that I would stop buying true crime books, but I broke the promise, and bought this book. The reason I decided to stop buying true crime is that for a long period of time, I purchased a very large number of books in this genre, and I finally wore out. True crime is as ugly as it gets, motives vary from jealously, madness, but in most cases I discovered it was greed the main force behind the crimes. I'll Take Care of You, by Caitlin Rother, is a chiller once the reader realizes how greed and betrayal can take such horrendous consequences. The book moves along rather well, making it easy to follow the story, and at the end the reader finds out they were immersed in the world of the characters. Needless crime, for sure, but then again these diabolical minds do not know the difference from right and wrong, may they burn in hell each one of these type of people, nothing is sacred to their way of thinking.Funny thing is, that around the middle of the book, I came to find out that I had already purchased, or read this title. I do not like to borrow books from the library anymore, like I used to, because of how nasty some of the books can be, but I had to laugh out loud to realize that I probably made the same purchase twice. I attribute this to the enormous number of crime books I have read over the years. Wish Amazon would extend the courtesy as it does with just about all other type of purchases, to let the buyer know whether a particular title has been purchased. A little help sometime is nice in this case. Either way, the book has pleased up to 3 readers in the household, so no complaints, and the price was moderate.Newport Beach, CA, is where the money is in Orange County, and is in this place where the crime took place. No sympathy whatsoever for the evil mind that plotted the crime, one can see it in her eyes that remorse is a feeling that does not exist in her greedy soul. 4 Stars.

10 stars!!
As with every book by Caitlin Rother I have read, this one does not disappoint. Her writing style keeps you on the edge of your seat. More importantly, she does due diligence in her research---not only by newspaper accounts, but with REAL interviews. I literally couldn't put this book down, and was annoyed when I had to interrupt my reading of it to do things like work and sleep.I don't want to give any spoilers, but suffice to say, I'll Take Care of You is a thorough examination of what happens when an unsuspecting pillar of the community crosses paths with a true sociopath. It also examines excellent detective work on a case that had gone cold, and what can be accomplished with a highly talented set of 'fresh eyes'.

Sometimes you don't get what you pay for!!!
Of course I'd seen this on the true-crime tv shows so I knew the outcome However, this book fills in all of the details which you cannot get in a one or two hour tv show. There was a lot of emotion in these pages. I'm so glad that pictures were included in my kindle of everyone but wish they'd been in the middle of the book so I could visualize what these characters looked like as I read. I couldn't believe how plain that Nannette looked. She was really a piece of work.

Suspenseful
Worked closely with the detectives that solved the case, so I can actually feel the frustration of trying to find the exact proof of who is guilty. It's the ending that is astonishing, but very true.

Disturbing, but fascinating
The length and details of research the author went trough. Is amazing. Although there are many names to remember, the story is readable and entertaining also because it is a true crime. It was good to have the court proceedings as well. It is incredible to realize what some people are capable of. This is a great read and better than watching it on any of the TV shows that were offered at the time when all this took place.

Justice prevails!
Great account. Bought it after seeing the ID-TV show about the case on TV. It took 15 years to bring the culprits to justice.
