1967, young Peter McKay's sister is decapitated by an ax wielding maniac dressed as the Easter Bunny. Peter never celebrates the Easter holiday again... that is until we flash forward to present day 1987. It's here, in an isolated cabin deep in the woods, Peter and his five friends enjoy their weekend away. It's a nice few days of partying, beer and water slides. But something white and fuzzy lurks between the trees this holiday season. And it's hacking, stomping, slashing and hopping its way down a bunny trail of severed limbs and bleeding bodies...

Love it!
If you're going to rent this, keep in mind this probably had a very low budget. With that it's hilarious in a way and actually pretty good. The plot was decent. If youre a weirdo movie lover like me this is that 5$ bottle of wine you keep buying because you actually like it but you don't bring it to a dinner party, lol. This is now a movie l want to watch every year on Easter, I'm in love!

Micro Budget Easter Horror perfection
Low budget horror at its finest. If you are even looking at this product then you know what to expect and this delivers nicely. Bad acting, cheesy gore and barely intact plot are all present and delightful.

I've got a dozen
As a child Peter (Shayan Bayat ) was traumatized as he watched his father dressed as the Easter Bunny lop off his sister's head. 20 years later he is at the same house with friends and the Easter Bunny killer returns. The film wasn't much of a mystery. The characters and acting were bad. Why was the forest ranger wearing the German flag on his sleeve? The humor wasn't there, although admittedly I had my finger mashed on the FF during much of the film. Would have been worth a hacker punch had I just let it alone.Guide: Sex? Butt nudity. Didn't catch any F-words, but I was FF for much of the feature. DVD comes with a director's commentary in case you are related to anyone in the film.

It isn't that funny, except for when the park ranger is onscreen ...
Easter Bunny Bloodbath is very low budget and very rough around the edges. It isn't that funny, except for when the park ranger is onscreen (I think he only has two scenes), and the gore effects aren't that great. Still the movie has it's charms. The bunny suit is fun, and while the movie is slow, it's never what I'd call "boring". Worth a watch close to Easter.

Bunny Horror at it's best
With seemingly every horror film being remade to death (and becoming more and more boring), finally something new comes along. A slasher film with the Easter bunny as the killer. Did you get that? Read it again. Someone actually pulled it off- and it works! It's shot on video too, which adds to the movie's feel rather than hinder it. I've seen a lot of shot on video movies and I really dug what they were doing here. There's a lot of comedy in the movie too, but it's never the kind that spoofs horror films or gets stupid. In fact the comedy is the best stuff in the film. You really get the sense that these guys took a camera out on a weekend and just started shooting... which helps make it feel like a home movie but it's edited tight and never gets boring. It gets pretty intense towards the end too and even though we never doubt who the killer is, it's fun to watch the characters figure it out. Finally I have a new horror for Easter!

Waste of Time
Too bad Amazon doesn't let you leave zero stars.- The acting is bad enough to give you cancer- No attempt at a plot or twist, just straight to traumatized kid recreates trauma... wow, must have taken them seconds to put that together- Props, effects, photography, and direction were worse than a group of kindergartners with construction paper and glue- The ridiculous cleavage-camera bits were a ham-fisted attempt at titillation that fell flatter than an A cupThis movie is bad, and everyone associated with it should feel bad.

Review-A note to parents. If your kid or young adult buys a dvd or blu ray and the box says “ SRS Cinema” you have failed as a parent. The other sign of this could be you coming to this site for parenting advice. Ron Bonk and his label were a prime example of the “ video store” craze. The type of low budget horror and exploitation films you find at the Suncoast or Hollywood Video, and you know zero about but the cover is crying to you. It is a sad state of affairs when today, we have people who say they are film fans but they have no idea what that truly means. That rant aside, welcome to “ Easter Bunny Bloodbath”. It seems that the horror genre loves to mess up our perception of what the holidays mean. We have had several Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, Halloween and even Fourth of July horror films. (Sadly, I do not recall a Yom Kippur horror film. That could work, have someone stabbing people with the Star of David and then complain about it afterwards. ) Then we get to Easter. When you think about it, this holiday just screams “ horror”. You have an Easter Bunny who goes around hiding eggs. What is not scary about that? The film starts out in the 60’s. Peter and his sister are going thru candy, when Peter spots the Easter Bunny. They are excited and open the door, only to see the evil bunny chop off the girl’s head. Not sure, if I would not view my sister being decapitated as a negative or positive. Truly, a very interesting way to get me excited about a horror film. The film goes forward to 1987. (The last review was all about 1987, so this is very odd.) We see Peter, as he has memories about this tragedy. He returns to the family home and brings some friends. (The perfect scenario for any horror film) As Peter looks in the woods, he thinks he can see the Easter Bunny lurking around. The question we are asked is, “ is this really happening” or “ is he insane”? This slasher comedy is very dark and sharp. The humor in this film does not overshadow, but compliments. The slasher element is low budget cheese. The type of film, you would rent on a Friday night and grabbed a beer and relaxed. This film is simple and requires the audience to put zero thought into it. Where most horror films seems to insult the audience with its blatant unsure storytelling. This film really has fun with itself. This is a very non-apologetic film that holds a middle finger a lot. The low-budget feel of the film is both a positive and a hindrance at times. I do not mind a film being silly, but at times this film is a little too blatant when I was hoping it would be more mysterious. Director Richard Mogg is insanity in its most pure form. He is a horror fan, and his films are reflective of a childhood spent watching low budget films and wanting to create. SRS Cinema is the perfect home for a film this absurd but yet fun. That is the feeling at the end of this film, that you had a good time. I would recommend this film, and also “ Night of the Tribades”, “ Night of Something Strange” and “ She Kills” as well. Three of the best films of last year’s festivals. SRS Cinema, thank you for your commitment to me not getting laid a lot in my life.
