I purchased the fimicc Culinary Butane Torch with the sole intention of making a fancy creme brûlée for my husband because it is his favorite dessert. I figured it would be just another kitchen tool that would be shoved in a drawer all other times. To be completely honest, I have yet to make that creme brûlée...BUT this torch has quickly become one of the most used gadget in my house. It has so many more uses than I ever thought. To begin, the torch seems to be well made with solid, sturdy and premium materials. It's a perfect size and not too heavy. Filling it (valve is at the bottom) is not bad at all; just remember that butane oil is sold separately and does NOT come with it. The torch has really endless possibilities of uses. We have used it as a lighter many times for lighting candles, starting our fire pit and tiki torches. I am afraid of matches and never use them and those long stick utility lighters seem to always disappear at our house..so this has been my go to for my lighting needs. My husband has also used it to repair a metal pipe and fix a broken necklace. The size and intensity of the flame and to choose the type of flame are easy to adjust with levers and there is also a convenient continuous flame lock. This allows the torch to be used in so many ways! We love it so much and highly recommend it.

This is a great little torch to have on hand around the kitchen! My husband and I love to cook, and so many times this past year we've needed a torch like this, but never had one. I finally buckled down and bought this one, and I wasn't disappointed. It's small, easy to use, and easy to fill. It was actually harder for me to find butane for it than it was to fill it! The only thing I didn't like was that the flame doesn't light on the lowest setting. You have to start at the maximum flame size and work your way down. I feel like it would make more sense, and be safer, to have it be the other way around. Also, the flame lock switch on the side was a little stiff on mine. It took some work to get it to move to the locked position the first time around. That being said, it's still very easy to use, and it's exactly what we need to have something readily available that doesn't take up much space.

The media could not be loaded.  Found this torch to work good but not all that it is advertised to be. Very well built and stands up to abuse. I've been using this to start my charcoal grill and it works great. The couple things I do not like would be that if you do try to hold it a certain way the assembly for the igniter is not a smooth edge and can dig into your hand. Rotating to hold it in a different position it's fine but natural use and grabbing it will cause it to dig into your hand. The other thing I was not big on was the fact of not being able to light the smaller flame. With both adjustments turned all the way down it does not ignite at all. You have to start out at the highest settings and adjust down. This I find to be very inconvenient. Works great as a torch to start charcoal quick but trying to use it as a regular lighter is a no go. However if you just need a torch than this would be great.

Update: I'm very pleased the company contacted me after seeing this review and offered a replacement up to me! So I am going to change my review to four stars because they went above and beyond to make me happy even though they didn't have to because the product was off warranty! I would like to give 0 stars but can't. My torch went bad last week and of course it was past return by a month. I went to refill it and when I removed the butane from the bottom of the torch all the butane started coming back out the hole and couldn't get it to stop. Leaked all out and I tried filling again and happened again.

This torch is a pretty cool little torch. It comes in handy for several things around the house things, which I discovered because I am not one to bake. It works well to light my grill which has a broken igniter, to start small fires in the woods when camping and we also made s'mores with it! It is easy to hold and is stable when not being held, (it doesn't fall over or roll around). The two different flame sizes is what made it possible to light the grill/fire and also cook marshmallows. The locking mechanism on the trigger is a great safety precaution that works. It comes with a bag to store it in, but does not come with Butane. I found Butane at a department store for just about $6.00.While I haven't used the torch for brûlée or anything, I am sure it would handy for that as well.

seriously ppl i bought my first 0ne of these in Colorado at medicine man......i use it to heAT MY SUSHI rolls up at restaraunts burn rope light my flower and when i tell you i didn't want to spend 20 bucks on a lighter started a excursion i wish i could take back i have now purchased 12 other lighters between 5 and 14 bucks non i mean none compare to this lighter and this one is all metal but bottom unlike my lasy one plastic.....man i so wish i could have my 100 back wasted on the others over a uears time .......and buy 5 of these and give them to my friends thatn to know what ive done with the others thrown them to the neighbors ............

This torch is perfect for the kitchen. It has great features (like a hold for the flame to keep it on). It gets to a high enough heat to produce great results. I was able to get sugar to harden to crisp shell on creme brule. The only thing I couldn't do was anneal copper. I make copper jewelry, an on thicker gauge sheet it couldn't get hot enough. So if you need a torch for the kitchen - this is perfect!

I was truly excited to use this for the first time, since I've only used someone else's.Note that the butane cylinder is NOT included (it DOES say this in the description).We tested this torch on our Labor Day creme brûlée. The flame caramelized the sugar quickly.One is able to keep the flame going by depression of the trigger. Better yet for bigger surface areas, is the ability to lock the trigger, and get a continuous flame. We had several desserts, so this was a nice feature.The flame is adjustable, which is great for safety.The location of the trigger makes for easier use.We were very impressed with this tool, and recommend it.

The double feature sucks, you have to light it as a tourch while holding it on and also turn a switch so the flame changes. This double feature was a selling point but o feel they failed to mention a feature that removes that sales bullet point. They got me but it's fine. Besides the kitchen we use it to dab as well

The media could not be loaded.  I love this torch! It was super easy to fill with fuel and even easier to operate. The push button is simple for lighting the flame and there is a "lock" option, though I found it easy enough to keep the button pressed with my finger through caramelizing the sugar on four creme brulees. The flame is strong and easy to focus, so I can see that there will be plenty of other uses, including lighting torches, the newspaper for the charcoal starter, even lighting candles in a pinch. I highly recommend this torch for its value and functionality.

I've wanted a kitchen torch for some time now. This one is easy to fill with butane, and it's easy to start so you want to make sure to store it out of children's reach. It worked exactly as I wanted it to. It has been too hot to use the oven so I invented a new snack. The only suggestion I have is to have it say on the box that the butane is not included. Oh the fun I will have using this during the holidays!

The fueling port does not seal properly so a lot of fuel is lost re-filling the torch. Trued it with two different butane re-filler bottles, both of which work fine on other lighters etc. Shame, because it does seem generally well-made and works well with whatever fuel you can get into it.Update: Great customer service tried hard to resolve the issue, Happily shipping a replacement torch. Second torch did seal somewhat better but still leaks some butane on filling.

This is a great tool to have in our camper. It is the perfect size, not a big bulky and it is refillable without needing the bulky propane canister. You need to purchase the fuel separately, doesnt come with it. It comes with its own burlap bag to store. It is great for starting a campfire and also using in the kitchen for smores and crème brulee. I would recommend this little handy tool to anyone. It is great!

This Culinary Butane Torch has quickly become an essential tool in our kitchen. I am a candle junkie and this torch puts my other lighters to shame. My husband has uses it for the BBQ and to heat and reseal a crack in a plastic folding table we have. Even if you are not a culinary expert in the kitchen you still will find many uses for this torch. No doubt, we won't be using traditional lighters anymore.

Worst torch lighter I have ever bought. The refill tip fits literally ZERO adapters for fuel refill. I spent $20 on adapters alone just to get the lighter to accept even a drop of fuel. Then, upon igniting it, the button flies off. So thoroughly disappointed in this product. What a joke.Update: I've now wasted a vast amount of butane trying to fill this lighter. The seller even sent me another and it had the exact same issue. I took it to a few different cigar shops to see if they saw anything I was missing but all of them agreed that this product does not have a normal sized refill valve, therefore resulting in butane spraying profusely out of the lighter and all over your hands and clothes. I've wasted so much time and money because of this garbage product and I'm beyond disappointed and frustrated. There is a serious issue in the manufacturing process with these lighters and it needs to be fixed because this product IS NOT SAFE.Avoid this product and don't waste your time.
