There is a family of cats living under the abandoned structure on the property next to mine. Animal control seems strangely unwilling to aid them. This book is at least helping me get some decent looks at the kitties to try & evaluate their health situations. I know they're being fed - I am providing the food. They seem very cagey (no pun intended) regarding the live trap - they're not getting near it. Hopefully between myself and a few other volunteers we'll be able to bring them to the shelter [eventually].

A must have book...for all cat owners!
Casey Wright does a great job on this subject! My only suggestion is....we need more story's and illustrations! Some of what was enclosed in the book was less, "Text book" and more personal opinion. (Which there is nothing wrong with that) I just prefer more facts, numbers, and "how to". That said, this book is a great starter resource for those of us who are dealing with the problems created by feral cat populations right outside our front door, or back porch. Casey brings this subject long overdue attention. A must read for cat owners!

Root Cause Rescue at its Best
I am a feral cat rescuer. Casey did a great job of compiling the things she has learned to share across the U.S. We have things to share also, and I wrote to her. The only reason she gets 4 stars is she didn't write me back! If I hear from her, I'll up it to FIVE!Barb HortonPuget Sound Working Cats

A must read if you feed feral cats.
Has lots of common sense information for handling feral cats. We've all seen them in our neighborhood. Why don't we at least spay and neuter them so no more will be born feral. Just feeding them isn't enough. Read the book, make a plan, buy a trap, and take responsibility. You'll feel good at the end.

Feral Cat Rescue - A Great Resource
Casey Wright's book is a great resource for people involved in feral cat rescue. It is clear that she knows her stuff. The book is well written with great personal examples given by Casey. I have only been involved with feral cat rescue and socialization for less than a year, and I know I will keep this book close by to reference. I've already used information I've learned in this book for both my rescued kittens and my family cats.

I found the advice in this book very useful. The author even suggests the best brand and model of cat trap to buy. I wish I knew this before I bought a trap but I bought the book and a trap at the same time. Buy the book first and then buy a trap.
