le me begin by saying this is the fifth portable boombox I have purchased since December. I have returned all the others due to various issues with quality and performance. I ordered this PYLE CD22 (the red and black one) yesterday and received it this afternoon - great delivery service from Amazon - thank you! So far this Pyle unit is working fine except for a couple of issues which could be considered minor. First off, to turn on the unit one must turn on the switch on the bottom of the unit AND press the button on the upper left front next to the P+Scan button. I think this redundant and there should have been a simple on/off button in the front. Second, the radio reception is not the best even with antenna all the way up. Even at low volume there is an audible hiss which gets louder as the volume is turned up. This occurs on both AM and FM although the AM reception is the worse of the two. So when listening to the radio I will just have to experiment with positioning the boombox in as best a position I can find. The ironic thing is that I have the apps for the stations I listen to and with the apps the sound is crystal clear but at the expense of battery life on my phone. Also the buttons take some getting used to as far as the general operation of the unit goes - just read the instructions (which frankly could be better) and experiment. The buttons are all in the front making operation that much easier to reach and memorize. Happily the rest of the review is positive. The CD player works just fine at least so far without the skipping issues that made me return my other units - I keep my fingers crossed on this function. Note however that the track number only appears for the first second or two of each track then immediately displays the timing of said track. The radio is easy to access stations with - just keep the reception in mind (see above). Bluetooth connection was super fast and easy and sounds great! have not used the USB so cannot comment. Likewise the AUX in as I do not plan on using headphones or external speakers. And speaking of the sound - the product description says the radio has 50 watts of power total. This may be but I have had to pump up the volume a bit for the CD and Bluetooth. The radio sounds fine at normal volume. There is an "equalizer" with various modes for different types of music. However this does not add much to the sound, especially where the bass is concerned, Mind you you can hear the bass - just don't expect to blow the roof off with this or any small portable unit. Calling this unit a boombox may be an overstatement. That said, the Pyle CD22 is fine for what it is. it will work fine soundwise in a normal size house or apartment. it is certainly lightweight enough to carry around (like the handle) but is solidly built and should last la long time - hope the functions last as long - I hope! A remote would also have been welcome at this price point but the controls being positioned where they are this is less of an issue than with the other boomboxes I have recently tried. So all in all the Pyle CD22 is a good investment for what it is made to do. I hope it lasts a good long time. P.S. There is a registration link in an insert in the manual. Please do this as you get a one year warranty with an extra three month extension and a free gift (Pyle does not say what it is - It'll be a surprise!

purchased this little boombox for our summer beach trips this year. I love this little radio! It’s packed with features! I purchased it mainly for its Bluetooth capabilities ~ but I love having a CD player on hand again. It connects seamlessly to my iPhone 13 And stays connected. It also has impressive range~ At least 30 feet. It operates with 4 C batteries. I use it daily; and have had it for a couple of months and I have not had to change the batteries yet. (you can also plug it in to an outlet) making this speaker well worth the price. The sound quality is truly impressive considering its size. It’s packs a punch! 50 watts is impressive for such a small machine. It’s also a really nice looking radio. Solid construction~ It’s extremely lightweight and compact. Perfect for traveling. I can carry it easily on one arm. Working out perfectly for my needs. Totally surpassed my expectations. Extremely happy with this purchase!

Unit is small, light weight, easy to program. The sound quality is above average for such a small unit. Has an EQ with 5 sound modes to select from. The specs for the amp are 50watts RMS into 2 8ohm speakers which is 25 watts to each speaker. Volume control goes up 32 and from what I could tell the amp didn't go into clipping(distortion) until around 30. Your not going to get the booming base out of the 4" speakers but it does have a full rich sound especially with the EQ in the rock mode and will get loud enough that the wife said that's too loud turn it down. Hooked up a 55" 4k Tv to the aux. and it defiantly was a lot better sounding than the TV speakers . Have not tried the USB, Headphone jack or Blue tooth. Only issue I have is with the presets for the radio not being able to go in both directions, just up not down. So if your on the 1st preset you can go to the 2nd but not from the 2nd down to the 1st. You have to go through all the presets to get back to the 1st. Other than that its a nice little unit with the right amount of features. Got mine from Amazon as they had the best price(1/2 off manufacture list price). If your looking for a small light weight boom box with above average sound and Blue Tooth I would recommend this unit.

IT IS A DECENT LITTLE MACHINE. , RECENTLY, I PURCHASED THIS MACHINE AGAIN FOR A FRIEND -- BUT THIS YEAR, THE ITEM I RECEIVED WAS CLEARLY A RETURNED ITEM AND DEFECTIVE. AMAZON HAS EXPANDED ITS USE OF OUTSIDE VENDORS/SELLERS. I RECOGNIZE USING OUTSIDE VENDORS/SELLER INCREASES AMAZON’S PROFITS, BUT INCREASINGLY MANY VENDORS /SELLERS USE AMAZON TO “DUMP” OLD AND DEFECTIVE STOCK. SADLY, EVEN WHEN THE LISTING IDENTIFIES AMAZON AS THE SELLER, AMAZON FREQUENTLY OUTSOURCES THE SALE TO AN OUTSIDE VENDOR/SELLER. LEGAL?? MAYBE.
