The Oath of the Five Lords

This adventure of Blake and Mortimer features a sinister plot that concerns the memory of a hero of the First World War, known to history as Lawrence of Arabia. That plot enmeshes Blake and Mortimer in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a mysterious killer who always seems one step ahead of their investigation. In the end, our heroes will race the clock to save the five lords, if any are to survive. As always, the artwork is first rate. The adventure cleverly builds on two real life events in the life of T.E. Lawrence to fashion its intriguing plot, nicely set in period surroundings. Highly recommended to fans of the series.

I am a big fan of Mortimer and Blake. Once more surprised with the plot. A pity Olrik didn't show himself....... It was not that bad reading the book in English. So far, all the book I've read were in french. I thought it wold brake the magic Reading in English, but it was OK; after all the characters are English.

A worthy addition to the series- some references are a bit colonial but, on the whole- a good purchase. The art is phenomenally good as always!

Very fast and intriguing story. Good atmosphere (a London/country winter). On a par with the other B&M stories. Illustrations are a notch below those of recent artists.

Well crafted yarn, & believable twists and turns!

Illustrated in the same artful style as Tintin but with a more mature story line and no whimsical humour. Story takes place in the 50s/60s so it has a cool retro feel. Will appeal to teenagers who were fans of Tintin.

The illustrations are fine as always but the plot is twisted and pretty poor. Its hard to believe that a manuscript from TE Lawrence could be so important after so many years.
