I'm a loyal FireAngel customer and these smoke alarms maintain the brand's excellent reputation. The quality and reliability are second to none, which is exactly what you want from a safety device. Installation is straightforward and they're up and running quickly. The optical sensor technology works perfectly - sensitive enough to detect real smoke threats but smart enough to ignore false alarms like vaping, which is a huge advantage over cheaper detectors. The alarm tone strikes the perfect balance - loud enough to wake you and alert the household, but not so overwhelming that it's painful. These are premium smoke alarms that justify the price with superior performance and reliability. When it comes to fire safety, I wouldn't trust anything else. Works well easy to fit, good quality and value for money.

Compact and modern fire alarm. Easy to use, comes with a mounting base, screws and wall plugs. Mount the base to a wall or ceiling as per the instructions. Then place the alarm in and twist to the base to hold in place and activate the batteries. Easy to test by holding the button, and has an indicator light. Says the batteries should be good for 10 years, then just replace with a new device, so no hassle. Bought this one as FireAngel are a reputable company.

Thankfully it has never been actually tested with a fire, so cannot answer.

Bought 2x of this item to replace older battery fire alarms on both floors of my house. Swapping them out was very quick and the integrated battery meant I could test them instantly and have peace of mind that they would work and keep everyone safe in ann unfortunate event. As an added bonus the old detectors had started to yellow with age and these new ones are a clean white blennding in with the ceiling much better and looking neater.

I used this to replace a unit which needed PP3 batteries every year or so, which functioned problem-free for years. I just got fed up having to climb up a ladder above a staircase and replace the battery. It is sleek and modern-looking, 4.5 inches in diameter and 1 inch deep. It is an optical smoke detector, smoke particles have to break a light beam to set it off. It is essential to vacuum it every month or so to stop dust and insects breaking that beam. It is held in place by a circular bracket that the unit rotates into. My model had a central mounting hole and a second hole offset from that. I made the mistake of just using the central hole - the device rotates clockwise, tightening the screw until the unit clicked in place - if you have to remove the unit, it just spins round and round. Lesson learned, use both mounting holes. There is a clip that is pushed in when it rotates into the mounting plate, if that clip is not pressed down the unit does not work at all. Lesson learned, have it properly mounted on its base before trying to test it. Pressing the test button sends it through a series of tests and then sounds a reduced volume alarm, if you continue to hold the button in you will get a full volume alarm. Lesson learned, read the instructions Pressing the silence button mutes the alarm for ten minutes and then resets it. A red light flashes quickly while it is muted. If it continues to detect the problem after it resets, it will go off again. Lesson learned, wait for the alarm to complete its reset before going back to bed. Mine was on the ceiling, problem free, for two years. Then at 2am it went off couldn't figure out why, it reset and I went nervously back to bed. Then it went off around midday and again in the early hours. It then went off every night until I took it off the ceiling (which is the only way to turn it off completely). I realised I was now in a dangerous habit of rushing to stop the noise, rather than checking to see if there was fire. A little research showed people reporting false alarms in low temperatures, mine was in a cold indoor location. Lesson learned, if it is going in a cold location, buy something else I have two HEAT detectors; one in the attic, the second in the basement, which have no problems whatsoever
