Silvermark 2-Piece Ceramic Knife Set, White

This knife set is a terrific bargain. I mainly use the large knife. It does a better job on dicing and slicing vegetables than any other knife I have used. The blade is incredibly sharp. Keep the guard on it at all times when not in use.You do have to treat this blade properly. It will chip if you are not careful and even if you are. Do not put it in a dishwasher. Be careful of what you curt on. Do not use this knife around bones. Keep the guard on. It is a great product at a great price.

I ordered the Silvermark ceramic knife set. The first time I used the small knife, the blade fell out of the handle. The blade portion extending into the handle was broken. I don't know if this was a manufacturing defect. If it was it showed that little inspection had been given to it. I've used to this knife set very infrequently as it is kept at my vacation home... Nonetheless, the second or third time that I used the small knife the tang broke. I also agree with the previous reviewer noted that the knives are not very sharp.

I am very disappointed in this product. After the first use it seems to have lost its sharpness. To slice a tomato you have to bear down just to break the skin. That can be dangerous. Also, there appears to be no way to sharpen this knife, at least from the included literature. It does reference sending the knives back to the manufacturer for a fee, but that can come expensive and a bit of a pain in short order. I have been considering returning them to Amazon for credit.

Most everything is as claimed. The knife is sharp. But when i try to cut tomatoes it does not cut through the skin easily which I was hoping it would do. I don't get nice thin slices easily. It does not perform the way the commercial for the Yoshi claims. For meat, on the other hand, and most vegetables, it is very good.

These aren't professional class knives, but they are really sharp out of packaging and work great. Some reviewers have said that they don't cut tomatoes, but in my experience, they cut them very well. I personally use these knives for special cutting so that I don't wear them out (due to many other reviews saying that they dull quickly), but so far I've been happy with them.

We had a Kyocera and it chipped. No fault to the knife, it was our mistake. SO I bought this one(bc i didnt want to spend the $$$ on another kyocera). The handle could be a little more ergonomic- when chopping my knuckles hit the cutting board. Also, since our last knife chipped we have been extra careful with this one. After careful inspection, we've noticed that the larger knife has small chips on the blade.. O well... it does well for the price.
