I Stink! (Kate and Jim Mcmullan)

The life of a garbage truck as told enthusiastically by one. Read it to your kid with the proud New York voice and attitude the Truck has and it really works. Beautifully illustrated in a gritty line perfect for the subject.

After reading this book from our neighborhood library, I found my grandson wanting me to read it everyday. And he could recite every page verbatim. knew then we had to purchase our own copy or would need to check this one out on every visit to the library. When purchasing our copy, we found other books by this writer. We have purchased Two other books in a series we found. We love each book.

My son's favorite show is "Stinky and Dirty" on Prime. For Christmas I naturally found as much Stinky and Dirty merch as I possibly could, and what better way to bring it home to my boy than the charming books that started it all? This is a hilarious, cute little read. If you have a toddler or young child they are guaranteed to laugh at a truck that loves stinky stuff and eating garbage. It's mildly educational and overall a lot of fun!

My son said that this is his favorite from the three books we have by the same author -- I am Mighty! I am Dirty! and I Stink! Because it is about garbage truck and because it is a cool book:). Nevertheless, he likes the other books very much as well. I would not say that I liked it that much at start. It is quite difficult to translate all the noises and one word text. However, upon many times of reading I have started to like it...besides, my son loves it, so it is fun to read this to him. He even likes the funny faces of the Garbage truck on insides of the covers. These books are fun and easy to read. The book brings our attention to trash...and hopefully teaches about being thoughtful about what we throw out in garbage.

I gave this five stars for the story in the book and the illustrations. However, the condition that it arrived was horrible, even by used standards. I ended up returning it and purchasing the book elsewhere, and the story is so funny and cute. I read this to my littles using a deep New York accent and they were cracking up the whole time. I plan on buying the other in the series from the McMullans.

This book is pretty good. My 2 and 4 year old love Stinky and Dirty. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is kind of cute. I would rate this 5 stars but I feel like Stinky's character on the cartoon is a little more kid friendly than the original version here in the book. This stinky seems a little rude and rowdy where the Stinky featured on the show is imaginative, friendly, and helpful.

Perfect for my Stinky and Dirty Show loving tot. Cute read. I can't wait to read more in the series.

We first heard I Stink read at the Brooklyn Library on 9th Avenue last year during the children's hour. All the children there that day loved it. We checked out the book and brought it home and read it again that afternoon to the the other family in our building with pre-preschoolers. During the time we had it checked out we read it over and over. Soon my 3 year old grandson was reading the many of the words and saying the sounds having memorized the story. He wrote "I Stink" with stick on letters in the bathtub. We ordered the book for him through Amazon for Christmas and it is a favorite with him and his brother who is now 20 months old. If your boys (and girls, too)like watching the garbage trucks come by and pick up the trash and garbage, they will love this story with so many "sounds," etc. It also helps children to build an understanding of how services work in the city and elsewhere and how important those services are to all of us no matter where we live, but especially in the city.

Durch Zufall bei amerikanischen Freunden auf dieses Buch gestoßen. Unser Sohn kann gar nicht genug davon bekommen. Von dem Buch gibt es auch eine Zeichentrickversion -- fast noch besser! --, die ich leider nur bei Netflix USA sehen konnte (aber auch dort ist sie, wie man mir sagte, inzwischen verschwunden). Ein etwas anderes Kinderbuch. Schön gezeichnet. Faszinierender Charakter. Sehr zu empfehlen, wenn es mal nicht die typischen Kinderbuchprotagonisten sein sollen.

Volevo far conoscere i libri originali a mio figlio che adora lo Stinky & Dirty show. Già sapevo Grazie ad altre recensioni che non era uguale ma non immaginavo così diverso. I disegni sono orribili, ma questo è un parere personale, ed essendo in americano, è tutto scritto in slang. Non essendo molto ferrata in materia, ho cercato comunque di leggerglielo così com’è traducendo dove mi chiedeva. È dato molto faticoso e comunque non troppo gradito da mio figlio. Non lo consiglio.

The Stinky & Dirty Show を見て子どもが気に入り、原作絵本も購入しました。アニメ版の“スティンキーとダーティ”らしい、ちょっとドタバタしながら協力して解決する雰囲気がそのまま感じられます。イラストの勢いも強く、読み聞かせでは子どもの反応がかなり良かったです。乗り物好きの子には特に刺さると思います。

Fantastic picture book! The art style and writing is totally unique, and it uses changes in font brilliantly. The garbage alphabet soup cracked up my 5 year-old. An instant classic which paints garbage truck as cool, indispensable heroes! PS: Go watch the Stinky and Dirty show too!
