The perfect Thanksgiving book!
I thought I was looking for a unicorn: a Thanksgiving board book with no historically inaccurate "pilgrims and indians" mythology, that is completely secular but still explicitly about cultivating a sense of gratitude for all our blessings. This little book is the whole package. I particularly love the ending: "Most of all, thanks for the family I love." Exactly the Thanksgiving message I want to share with my kids. So glad we found this one.

Simple story about modern American thanksgiving traditions!
As a teacher Iโm always searching for books and Thanksgiving is notoriously difficult to find good books for. This one focuses on the modern American traditions about family and being thankful without pushing the false narrative of โpilgrims and Indians having a peaceful feastโ. 10/10! And beautiful illustrations!

Cute book... but who are they giving thanks to?
This book is all about "Giving Thanks" and I love the quality of the illustrations... but it's very unclear as to WHO they are thanking. It begs the question - are they thanking their parents or God? It's a toss up. That is the only short coming I have found in this book... love it otherwise.

Excellent book to teach a tot about Thanksgiving and being thankful
This is such a fab book for our tot who's just learning about Thanksgiving. The paintings are so colorful and meaningful and really depict realities of many homes during the holiday. The messages in the book absolutely hit all the notes. Such a thoughtful book that is a must-have!

Perfect for young kids
Cute book with great pictures and rhymes. Just a warning, the kid in the book is thankful for both mom and dad, so probably not the best book for a kid who has lost a parent or otherwise doesn't have a traditional household.

Great, easy to read book that we will enjoy for many years
I like to get books for my kids about the different seasons and holidays and then pull them out every year. We can read old familiar stories and hopefully in the future my children will remember this stories every year at that time and have memories of the stories we read together when they were young.I was looking for a book that focused on the "thankfulness" of thanksgiving--using this time of year to express gratitude for all the good things in our lives. I wanted less focus on pilgrims and that sort of thing as we are from Canada and our thanksgiving is more about the harvest and giving thanks. This book is perfect. The back page includes a place to write your "thankful thoughts" and I think it will be nice to include different things from each year. The book opens with "Thanks for thanksgiving, turkey and pie. Thank you for fall and gold leaves floating by."It continues on to list things like school, music, animals, hopscotch, puddles, parents, the moon etc. I really like the rhyming style and the variety of things to be thankful for, everything from puddles to "the family I love."The illustrations are beautiful and almost every page features the family together, emphasizing that being together is the greatest thing to be thankful for.

OK
I didn't realized that this is a book for rather little children, I'd say 3 years max. Past that it's boring. So if you have small children + want them to understand what is out there that you can/should be grateful for, it's cute. The illustrations are also nice.
